i feel sorry for her too actually. I just read she has a big sister which seems bizarre to me. she screams only child. I think its kind of sad that her mom started giving her lessons at like age two... just not normal. Maybe her big sister is a screw up and her parents just focused ALL their energy on baby kat. Her dad seems to be a pretty successful guy im sure its a lot of pressure. She tries to put on an act of confidence but she is obviously insecure. I wish she would just be herself even if she really does have zero personality.... I'd rather see a stepford wife than someone with no personality trying to have some. Carrie never showed a ton of personality and she is one of the most successful idols ever. She didn’t have to try to be loud for people to like her… her humility and kindness was evident without many words. Katherine’s mannerisms are all very staged and make her look really uncomfortable. Elliott has proved that you don't have to be completely comfortable on stage to be likable. I think it makes him seem more human. Carrie was the exact same way. If Kat just didnt worry so much about looking good she would get more votes...
I'm not giving up on my dream top three from the beginning though!
Taylor, Elliott and Chris

I'm going to vote for Chris and Elliot from here on.

I'd love to see them in the finals and drive Simon crazy.

I still like Katharine and Chris, but both are the "chosen ones" to be in the finals so that makes me want to vote for the others.

Still, it's a great Top Four this year. All very good singers.

That chart has been posted here before. I have no idea where they get the numbers from. The "Poll" is the same as AOL has:

1)Katharine
2)Chris
3)Taylor
4)Elliott

Accurate? Who knows? But at least there's some nice pics of McPhee!

I think I just heard a new Kelly Clarkson song in a Ford ad. Have you seen it?

From MTV.com...click link embedded in title to read entire article.

Kelly Clarkson Airs New Song In Commercial, Will Play More On Tour

VAN NUYS, California — "American Idol" viewers have grown accustomed to seeing the show's hopefuls in commercials for Ford, which is one of its sponsors. But they may have been surprised during Tuesday's episode when the requisite commercial featured a brand-new song from Kelly Clarkson instead.

Titled "Go," the upbeat song was written by Clarkson and producer/musician Rhett Lawrence (Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Kelly's Thankful LP) and may be included on the singer's next album. "It's all about empowerment — taking that initiative and just doing what your dreams are," Clarkson said Tuesday. "It's a fun song. It fits perfectly with the commercial. I like the whole [empowerment] theme because it's kind of like my life."

The company is also sponsoring Clarkson's summer tour. "We're giving away a car in each city and we're doing some charity stuff as well," Clarkson said.

Kelly's tour kicks off June 30 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and will hit 24 cities before wrapping up August 6 in Auburn, Washington. The singer is taking a break from recording her third album to make the trek, which will feature some of the new material.

"I actually said no at first," Clarkson said. "I was like, 'I've toured a lot,' but [my management] came up with the idea, like, 'Hey, you always like to try out new songs [live].' So then I called back and was like, 'I want to do the tour,' because I think it'd be cool to make the fans part of the process. I get to be like, 'Hey, we're thinking about doing this on the record. What do you think about it?' "

Ford acquired the rights from Kelly and Rhett Lawrence to let other artists sing the song, which means it's already made them a bundle and will continue to do so as long as Ford uses it. This is an exceptionally smart and lucractive marketing deal.

Did Simon call Taylor bawdy?

He said "Balmy"...Britspeak for nutty.

It may have been "balmy" or "barmy." I believe both mean about the same thing in Britspeak -- mentally irregular, batty, bonkers, etc. I though I heard "barmy." Either way, we know what he meant.

When Elliott goes I would expect his votes to swing towards Taylor.

Definitely towards the boring song crowd. I don't consider that to be Taylor though. Not that I don't think Elliot isn't a great singer, it's going to be tight here on in.

Boring song crowd???? Hardly unless you consider classic songs boring. Personally I find most of today's modern stuff (and that includes the stuff that Chris screams every week) to be generic, overproduced crap that is hard to distinguish from one band to another.

What I liked about Paris was that she took classic music and made it a bit more modern. Give her 4 more years and compare her to where Kat is today and there would be no comparison.

"A Kat sandwich????"

The mind boggles.

Admittedly, I am not the most objective voice on the matter of Katherine the Great.

But it shouldn't take a box drummer like me to point out that our lovely Miss McPhee is the only damsel left in the proceedings.

Surely the remaining guys will cancel one of the other out in the next week or two, barring a calamitous song choice by our raven goddess.

And since Elvis never trafficked in the wretched Phil Collins catalougue, I'd say our girl gets past Mother's Day with her dresses all buttoned up.

I guess I do. I'm a classic rock fan from the 70's so yeah he's sung nothing that's really appealed to me. (but I'm not knocking his great voice)

Paris appealed to me more than Elliot last night and they were both in my bottom two only reversed.

I think Elliot is gone next and I couldn't begin to predict whose next until I hear their songs.

My litmus test is if I'd turn the channel when driving in my car.

It won't matter at that point. Taylor will have won and Elliot will be driving a new car!
