The Hobbit Hole XXVIII - Through shadows to the edge of night
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 02/24/2006 9:52:11 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Through shadows to the edge of night

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh dear - I can't begin to know how to advise on your choices. I don't know anyone but hopefully someone does. There's a wealth of experience here in the HH.

We'll keep an open mind about that musical :~D

Animal Planet (I think) ran an interesting "making of" mini-documentary on 8 Below and the wolfdog that played the leader of the team.

The wolfdog had to be trained, period --- not just in acting, but in being around people. They say he did an excellent job.

We have a friend at church who lost his leg from the knee down a couple of years ago. But he had other issues and had already been wheelchair bound for a number of years.

You'll be in our prayers that you and the doctor will make the right decisions and that you'll have peace about all of this.

I have no advice at all, but I'll certainly be praying for you. Hope you're back on your feet again quickly, in whatever form those feet may take!

I realize that's making light of a serious situation...and as I said, I'll be praying - it's all I can do.

I think I'm coming down with your cold...flu...thing.

You know, I really like you guys, but there are some things I'd rather you *didn't* share with me... ;-)

Well...also the gal at work has had her little boy with her a lot this week as he hasn't been feeling well...so I could blame them instead.

But it seems so cruel to blame a child. ;-)

I'm gonna pretend I'm fine and hope it goes away.

Well, if denial doesn't work, you can have some of these Cold-Eeze thingies.

How'd the graphic art thing work out last night?

He said the format was different than the first one and at first wanted me to scan it in again, but when I said "not tonight" he said it was good enough for a mock-up. If the design gets approved, I may need to do it again, to work out the final kinks. But I'm almost thinking he may be able to use part of that one and part of another where I had the author's name done better...so maybe I can pull it off without another evening of working on it. We shall see.

Do they have the Cold-Eeze things at the store? I need milk anyway...could get some there if they've got 'em.

Heh...I could bring the shop vac over in trade...not that that's fair or anything, considering it's yours...

Is now OK?

Evening Rose. Thanks for the info, would the leader in question be the old leader Maya or the new leader Max. They were wonderful their scenes together.

LCS, you have FReepMail ... though, if you like, we can discuss it here. My daddy's foot was amputated (poor circulation led to dry gangrene), and he recovered and adapted.

However, I would have rather he kept his foot. How many medical types have you seen, and have you considered alternative therapies?

Thanks for your prayers.

First time I've ever seen a double post more than 20 minutes apart! Strange.
