The Hobbit Hole XXVIII - Through shadows to the edge of night
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 02/24/2006 9:52:11 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Through shadows to the edge of night

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Sorry about your friend's Dad, Corin. I hope you get to be there. I'm sure you know it's nice when your own friends can attend the funeral of a parent, not just their old friends.

Thanks. Talked to the Mrs. and we think I should go. I just need to get the details to make sure I can. It'll be somewhere near Pittsburgh.

Yup, I know where that is. Just stay out of McKeesport, there's been a lot of really really weird stories coming from there lately.

Looking at old shootmoot pics got me thinking about your range again. Here is what you need:
http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?prodCatType=2&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&productId=103441&cmArea=SC2:CG39:DP1555:CL70701:SS1010852

I like the wood ones better but the plastic is lighter for hauling down there.

2 or 4 of them. A couple to make a 'line' out of for bench shooting and some to hold gear & ammo in the back. It should be this size or smaller of you can get it to make them easy to haul down there. I would suggest building them but it would be hard to make them for any cheaper than that price. The usual sand bags or wood proppy things to rest guns on would be good to go with them. For one it is best to introduce noobies from bench rest and two it would get all the toys up off the ground. They are small enough that your quad could get them down there easily and they can be set up by one person or even one handed.

The only other thing might be to grade the 'line' area, put a timber across the front end of it and then put down fine mulch or gravel. And frame the sides in enough for it not to wash away. If I was closer or had more vacation time I would offer to come down and help. Maybe next year.

Hey there...not sure what you wanted him to look at...the link took me to the Staples home page. Unless I'm doing something wrong, which is entirely possible.

I don't think you were in danger of missing any mini-dramas.

Do you feel any better?

I'm better than I could be, I suppose.

But there's some kind of tech issue system problem client malfunction thing going on and I can't even get my head around it, so I ain't near 100%.
