Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,

A new road or a secret gate,

Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I got on the radio the week after Jr. and I went to the LOTR marathon. Local talk show guy couldn't believe anyone would sit thru all three.

Heh, my Daddy was a great one for 'creative engineering'. He was doing some wiring on our fish camp once when SirKit and I were there visiting. We were down on the pier while he was working on the house. We heard this loud ZZZZZZOT, and looked up in time to see a big arc of electricity coming out of the attic of the house! SirKit went tearing up the hill; I followed a little more slowly cause I was 6 months pregant with our #1 son at the time. By the time we got there, Daddy's hair was standing on end. We were surprised there wasn't smoke coming from his ears. He had a goofy grin on his face. Since that time, SirKit has not spent too many nights in that house. He's afraid the thing will catch fire and burn down before we could get out of it! LOL!
