Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Still got hockey on CBC, and Brokaw on NBC. Not sure if I'm gonna stick around for the ceremonies or not.

I've got Spiderman on TNT and a Strawberry Shortcake movie on the other television.
My life is weird enough without the Olympics. ;-)
Although I don't know why I'm tolerating the commercials when I have Spidey on DVD.

I can't believe I forgot this! Must be because I'm not at work.
So better late than never...

Wow, 16 posts from 9:30 to 10:30 pm, then 1 post 20 minutes later, then it is as empty and dark as in Balin's Deep!
Spooky!

Good morning!
It's supposed to be BEAUTIFUL here today! Low seventies. Tomorrow is gonna be in the mid 80s!
Fire danger goes up, but other than that, it should be a nice day.

Gooood morning! Happy Monday, fwiw. We have no heat once again and some busybody sent out an email saying the wind chill outside is 12.5 degrees. Well thank goodness it isn't windy in the ol' office. So there's that.
Have another business trip tomorrow. Prolly won't be around much.

Brrr. Hope you got some gloves with the fingers cut out so's you can type in that cold office!
It's pretty brutal up here, too. SirKit and I tried going for a walk yesterday afternoon. We made it around the circle just outside our house, the equivalent of about 1/2 a block, and I couldn't take it any more. My face HURT, it was so cold!
I didn't have to drive Joseph to school today because Clare was already up and SHE drove him. She realized, on her way home from taking him, that it was the first time she'd ever been in the car all by herself! It sure was nice for ME not to have to get out in that cold this morning. ;o)

What I do is get some of those 'miracle' gloves, and cut out about 3/4ths of the length of the fingers. They are a flat knit, inexpensive, fit nice and close, and don't get in your way when you're trying to type. I find them in the grocery store or drugstore.

Should be warmer, true!
I'm off! The jedis are starting school, I gotta get them breakfast. Then after school, I'm sure we'll do something outside.
