Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I just want to see winmag take care of himself for awhile.
Winmag, I know this project is your love, I respect and admire your easily tempted heart. There will always be good bargains, and I know you ~won't~ resist all of them. Just make sure we keep your head above water.

I don't have any melon seeds. Any recommendations on easy-to-grow types?
To: RosieCotton
Not sure we have the growing season for melons. Never known anyone to plant them here!

All I'm sayin' is "let's be careful out there."I am being careful. My financial meter is solidly in the middle of the yellow zone, and I'm not going to let it creep any closer to the red.
To: 300winmag
Fair enough. We'll continue to help when we can.

I've known people to grow watermelon, at least, back home where the growing season is even shorter.
Admittedly, they typically aren't the greatest.

Got online for a whopping 4 minutes last time. Long enough to check my email quickly.
The phone line is making a roaring sound. It keeps disconnecting me from the internet and the most I can log on at is 24 kbps. It happens whenever we have several days of rain like we have this past few days.
Shoot...and we were having such a lovely garden chat.
I'll check in when I can, otherwise, expect me when you see me.

Dialup is no way to live... Sorry dear... I don't suppose Steve's likely to improve your internet connectivity any time soon?

It's definitely coming from outside of the house, because I just plugged the phone in to the test connector out there and it's just a-roaring away.

It's definitely coming from outside of the house,Can you call the phone company to come and take a look at it? We had some water get into the junction box on our house once, caused a short between the two lines that we have, and they came and fixed it.
