Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, I have it set up assembly line in the kitchen...when they get in, I'll be ready.
Did I tell you about those deli baskets Steve got me for Christmas? The plastic baskets like you get a sandwich and chips in at a deli? You know, they line them with a type of wax paper? He got me the baskets and the papers to go in them! (He got me a box of 24 baskets and a box of 500 papers.)
Anyway, I have those set up and ready to go too. Tonight is "Game Night"...after church they come home, take their showers and then go in their room and they can play on the computers or the XBOX for two hours before bed. Gives Steve and I some time to just sit and visit and watch TV before our week starts. They even eat supper in their room using the deli baskets! Pizza is their most frequent request.

Yeah, I remember how thrilled you were about those baskets. The Jedis must love that.

They're fun! But I don't need 24!
One of the ladies in BA CHEF is expecting her sixth baby...I'm going to buy another box of those papers and give her eight of them for a present! LOL!
I'm off...the jedis'll be here any minute!

You hippie, you!Oh yeah! My Granny said that we were going to have a hippie wedding because I wasn't wearing a veil, and we were having a Folk Mass! The groomsmen didn't even wear tuxes; we just had them wear sportcoats. The bridesmaids, my two younger sisters, and SirKit's younger sister, wore dresses exactly like mine, but in a mango color with an eyelet capelet that had a floral design of mango and purple, and with green leaves.
The whole thing was vey relaxed and nice.

Interesting parallel to LOTR. The Shire is very seductive for those who don't want to fight, or who don't believe they can win.

Evening Rose; a very fitting description, the simple phrase does paint a vivid picture, just as the Movie did. Thanks very much for the ping. OB & LSA

I'd post pictures, but someone would see who isn't supposed to Understood. :-)

Heh, Nope, LSA commandeered the TV for the finale of Dancing with the Stars.

The fireheads, the wind-flyers, the flying clowns ... the sparking clown car, the human St. Catharine's wheels ...
Now there's a motorized dogsled on the ice ... I've spent the whole night asking DaBear, "What the h#ll ...?"
To: Rose in RoseBear
AIIEEE!!!!
The guy on the sled cracked the ice with an auger and lots of little people with ice blocks came out!
They're building something!!!!
To: Rose in RoseBear
And then, Avril Levigne came out of from somewhere ...

Hasn't the whole thing been sorta weird?
I heard the opening ceremonies were odd as well.
