Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

The storm I saw in the distance is already here. Horizontal rain.
But I believe a cold front is moving in behind it, so it should be nice tomorrow.

Bad weekend weather, nice weather on Monday. That's not quite fair...

Good morning!
I'm trying to get motivated here, but the rain isn't helping. ;-)
Becky let me sleep in until 11 o'clock, believe it or not.
Her cough is better too. I hope it's gone soon. Poor thing.

Just checked wunderground. We're supposed to have a ~high~ of 71 tomorrow with clear skies.
But it will be back to 80 by Thursday. Ick.

Coughs are no fun. Hope she feels better soon.
Not sure what I'm going to try to do today. Laundry I suppose.

We can use some rain over here....
To: RMDupree
Most unusual to say the least; we'll doubtless make up for it some other way. We could use some of your rain, yesindeed.

Same thing appears on my "To Do List".
Gots a fish tank and crabitat to clean too.
And I'd better do that drawer purge for the girls and start clearing out stuff that doesn't fit them anymore. Pre-pre-pre moving prep. :-/
The car needs cleaning inside as well, but the weather will keep me from that today.
Whaddaya say we just veg on the couch and watch movies instead? ;-)

You're welcome to it! We've been dry for a while, but only need a passing deluge to get everything soaked.
After that, it just floods.

Laundry... ungh... I have to get quarters. Guess I'll do that aftter church. I have to go to the craft store and look at fabrics... Mom wants to get the fabric for my wedding dress and so I have to go take a look. And there's homework I need to get done, too. Meh.

Well, the laundry may not sound like much fun but it's gotta be exciting to pick out fabric for your wedding dress. :-)
Will you buy it there and send it to your mom or just call her and tell her what you liked so she can get it where she's at?

She's just having me look at a bunch of fabrics, then she'll order them - online, I think. Apparently that's the best way to buy exotic fabrics.
Yeah, it's pretty exciting. It's very cool that Mom is making my dress for me.

That ~is~ very cool, chica.
I can't wait to see what it looks like. Do you have an idea of the pattern already? Or are you going to surprise everyone?

Need to put some seed out for the birds. I might put out some water for them too, but the danged squirrels will probably drink it all.
Cleaning a bit...doing laundry...watching Gamera vs Zigra until the race comes on.

Morning!
I have three yeller crocuses up. I was going to take a pic of them, but they haven't opened yet today. They were open yesterday and I got all happy just looking at them. :) Daffydills are coming up, too. Won't be long now!
I got almost all the seeds I wanted at Walmart yesterday. Walmart carries a lot of Burpee products so I was able to find some of the exact varieties that were on my wishlist. And how wonderful it was to pay $0.10 - $0.97 per packet instead of $2.00-$4.00 from the catalog.
