How old was the kid?
We went to the zoo plenty of times and we always knew we weren't allowed to climb up on the enclosures or try to touch the animals, except in the "petting zoo" part. So yeah, it probably wasn't the kid's fault, but obviously the parents had done a bad job of parenting beforehand. It wasn't just a case of "turn around and the kid's in the bear pit".
He was four. Apparently he climbed a wooden fence and then went over and put his hand thru the chain link fence. Park officials speculated he'd been eating so the food scent was on his hand.
Yeah. Pretty clearly a case of parents not being on top of things. Four years old is much too young to ever turn your back on a kid.
Gotta go. I spread several bags of humus and clinton on the front flowerbeds. Let's just say it's better for me to be outside where there's a breeze...
Daddy, why does the front yard smell like the circus?
Joshua got first place again! Against the region! Matthew got second place again, with a much faster car...so that's good!
They're going to OKC for the next race, the statewide race, the first weekend in March. It's an overnight trip.
(Sneak freepin'...gotta be quick.)
Hey, great! They must be so proud!
*claps hands*
Most excellent! They must be so proud. :-)
Back from errand running. Becky has new clothes, so I am basically sitting her watching her model them in various combinations now. hehehehe...
Sure hope that sticker doesn't add too much weight! ;o)
Joseph spent more time on the decorating part of his Pinewood Derby cars than he ever did on the aerodynamics of them. One year he was on a tornado kick and painted the car medium gray with black tornadoes all over it. Another time it was shiny black with red and orange flames. But one year, he did both well, and he came in third in our Pack Derby. He went on to compete in the Town Tri-Pack Derby. He didn't win, but he had fun.
ROTFL!! You gonna burn in hell for that one, son! But, I can understand it after the coffeepot got turned off. ;o) We don't have to worry about that anymore. We got one of them new-fangled thermal carafe thingies, and there's no more hot plate to have to worry about. When the coffee stops running, it just sits there all nice and hot in the carafe until you want it.
Mmmm. I loves me some hot coffee!
WooHoo!! I'll bet Joshua is just SO thrilled, and Matthew, too, but you know Joshua has to be excited to have done something better than his big brother. It's just a natural thing.
Homer done r-u-n-n-o-f-t again. :(
We got a voice mail from someone who found him, but we can't get back in touch with them.
I got the Corin DVD back from the Post Office stating that the address was "attempted - not found".
I must have written something wrong on the label. :-(
Please FReepmail me your addy and I'll get it back out ASAP!
He needs a spankin'. Naughty boy. How'd he get out?
I can already hear Ramius saying "He just wants to go home and you won't let him...LOL!"
I guess Homer is just a wanderer. Hope he's ok.
He must get out through the electric in the front. Unless he scales the gate or something. We've never seen him do it. We've been leaving him in the house when we leave since he got out last time. But we were right next door at Rosie's, we thought he'd be fine in the yard.
You have FReepmail.
Yep...he's pretty tickled. We've made a big deal out of it. ('Couse, we've also made a big deal out of Matthew getting 32 out of 30 on his last Latin exam. Two were extra credit.)
Also, when I was up in the attic getting Steve's robe down, I stumbled on Matthew's old pinewood derby trophies from when he was in scouts. He did very well, first place a couple of times plus most original design. So I hauled those down and it reminded him that he's done well in the past. We'll put them back up on the "Awards Shelf".
He finished reading War of the Worlds to Joshua and is now reading "Tale of the Toa" Bionicle book in the evening, btw. One of those Scholastic books.
Steve broke the attic access door hinge...he's out in the garage fixing it.
Can't trust him.
I hope you can get in touch with the fella that found him soon.
Thanks so much!
It's completely different from the one I had. :-/
