The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Thanks... been sleepin' most of the morning now...

I'm seeing something about a winter storm warning that is big, including lots of snow for duchess even...

With my swimmy head I'm tryin' to figure out if it's real.

Just about everyone who has walked into the library this morning has warned me about snow coming in tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to check the weather yet. :(

I have no idea what pesto is, but is bound to be better than a tomato sauce.

Mom called.. she has two family reunions she wants us to visit this year. There is the one in June as usual, then there is another comming up in mid April that she just heard about. It is a reunion for Grandpa's side of the family. She told me to call you about it. Our Aunt and Uncle and their spawn are supposed to make an appearance.

Spawn? You are so wicked lol. I can't make April because I'm going to Austin. I'll think about June.

Well I phrased that wrong. I know what it is just not what it is as in how much. Is it just a little bit for seasoning or a bunch as in sauce?

Well it's true. They took her cell phone and car from her recently because they wanted the car and jr. spawn was out of minutes on her own phone.

Their own fault. People can only abuse you if you let them.

I doesn't have a tomato so it mught be ok.

Pesto Ingredients:

3 Cups Tightly Packed Fresh Basil (Hydroponic Basil is available all winter in some stores, and works great. Don't use the cut & boxed basil, since it wilts quickly!)
1/2 Cup Pine Nuts
1 or 2 Ounces Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese (a block about 1" x 2" x 2")
2 Cloves Garlic
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 (approx) Tsp Kosher Salt
Careful! - There's very little difference between enough salt to make it perfect and enough to make it too salty

I guess I will try a little at a time. I don't want it to be like pouring a box of salt on them. Maybe I'll just dip them in ketchup or something. Sorry, I'm gripy and not being sympathetic.. I just got back from the dennist. I can go kick the cuz's butt for you. Or would you rather I go slash her new tires or bust her windshield?:')

My 2 little schnauzers are wearing a new cologne, "Eau De Skunk." They just cornered a skunk in George's stall, it was wandering around in daylight. My husband shot it. The animal control guy will pick it up tomorrow for testing but there's no doubt in my mind that it had rabies.

My barn is nearly unusable, the smell is so bad.

I can still smell it on me and I didn't get near the skunk. Yuck. I may spend a couple of hours soaking in a hot bath tonight.

Are you ok? Did I read upthread that you are sick?

Wow, sounds like you've got the flu. Have you tried some ibuprofen for the aches and pains? Might help.

That was a nice thing for him to do. Funniest Home Videos is on here, you should lay down and watch it when it comes on there, it's a riot tonight.

Hello, glad your getting better.

Hey I've got a question if your up to it.

How do you measure and E. Saddle. I got a response on an ad I placed. The girl asked specifically what the size was. I "thought" I remembered it being 17 1/2 but I thought I'd better measure it to be sure. If I'm measureing right it's 16 1/2, but I could swear the tag said 17 1/2. But the lady at pet smart says it has those Cair panels too, and I didn't think it did. So I'm beginning to think the tag was wrong.

Becky
