Severe told officers "she had obtained the package, which contained the human head, from a male in Haiti for ... use as a part of her Voodoo beliefs. Severe also stated that the purpose of the package was to ward off evil spirits," Hernandez wrote. Maybe she's onto something. I always have good spirits after someone gives me a little... oh, never mind...

123 USC 987 reads in part:
Any person carrying, or attempting to carry, a human head into the United States or its territories from a point outside of said United States or territories shall be guilty of a felony and shall be subject to beheading.

The headline can be interpreted as that she was putting her own head into her luggage. Is this illegal?

Okay. I found the source of the missing head.
Actually this is a real picture someone sent to Coast to Coast. See strange story here.

Just a quick note. In Haiti, voodoo power is created by killing people. Voodoo witch doctors almost always possess the bones of their victims. I heard of one that had three bags, each about six feet by three feet filled with bones. When she converted to Christianity, she buried them and disavowed voodoo. When I was there, the missionaries I stayed with had cable, and we could see US television. One of the funniest things we watched was a special from A&E or Discovery about voodoo in Haiti, and they were portraying it as this quaint folk religion, showing people making sand paintings, etc.
They kill people as part of their religion. Some of them have killed a LOT of people. In Haiti, they don't count the bodies.
To: farlander
They cut people's heads off just like the muslims do,nice
people.
