He's one of my heroes. I'm as German-American as you can get and a Lutheran to boot. ;)
My other hero is Irene Gut Opdyke. She was a Polish girl who saved many Jews from the Nazis. Her book is "In My Hands." A very compelling read, if you care to pick it up.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Change Nazi Germany to totalitarian Muslim regimes and this sounds current.
Proud of DB, too. My mom's maiden name was Bockhofer so definitely some German background there.
