Ron Howard is currently busy directing what may arguably end up being the most serious attack on Christianity ever to emerge from Hollywood - the film version of "The Da Vinci Code" novel.
Opus Dei, a Catholic group featured in the book, is asking that the movie be given an adult rating because children should be protected from prevarication about Catholicism.
Meanwhile Ron's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, will appear in an explicit sex scene in the new Lars von Trier film called "Manderlay."
Bryce got her breakthrough in Hollywood the old-fashioned way - through nepotism. She appeared in her daddy's flicks.
In "Manderlay," the second film in an anti-American and anti-female trilogy by Danish director von Trier, Bryce plays the same character portrayed by Nicole Kidman in the first installment, "Dogville."
The New York Post asked Bryce about the impact of her first nude scene on her parents.
"They're really proud," she said. "In particular, my dad was really impressed with what Lars did cinematically. Of course, it's a little challenging to see their daughter go through what I went through. But they get it. They know I'm an actor," she added.
The Left Coast Report wishes Aunt Bea were around to dress down the whole family.
While she is very pretty - she still looks just like her dad.

It would seem this nude scene will consist of an expanse of very white skin, and not much else.

i remember a long time ago when the Playboy Channel started they would show these hard R rated movies at night. one night they showed this movie called "The First Nudie Musical" and Cindy Williams from "Laverne and Shirley" was one of the main actresses and Ron Howard did a cameo appearance in this film.
Ron Howard is a democrat. But it was Ronald Reagan who gave Howard his big break. And Ron's mother, Jean Speegle Howard, loved Ronald Reagan. Ron was at the DNC Convention when Al Gore ran for President. Andy Griffith is also a democrat. Ron was on Letterman back in the 1980's and Letterman asked him what it was like to work with John Wayne in the Shootist. He said he showed Wayne a picture of himself with Henry Winkler on the cover of TV GUIDE. Wayne said , "Oh, Big shot , huh. "
