Giving those voted off a "swan song" is a nice touch, it les them try and show that the audience was wrong...The problem with giving the top two vote getters airtime is thayt it gives them MORE exposure than the others, and thus would skew the voting....

I hope Brenna remembers what happened to the girl with the three-foot Afro last year.

Is he from Pennsylvania?

Gedeon is handsomer and way more wholesome than Richard Pryor.
If Gedeon goes next week, he can always do toothpaste ads.

jonny, your predictions were spot on this week. You said:
"My elimination picks for tonight are Bobby, Brenna, Patrick (because he was so forgettable) and maybe Stevie."
Do you have insider information?
Are you really Simon Cowell?

Simon would be pretty awesome if he could judge talent and post comments on a thread at the same time.

I can't stand the thought of him winning this competition and then being locked in to 19 Entertainment's restrictive and uncreative manufactured pop schtick. I want him to create and just be himself instead of going too "commercial". He's got too much BLUES and originality in him that needs to be let out and I don't think Clive Davis can give us that kind of an album. Agree completely and have said as much. See what Clive did to Bo as exhibit A. Dreadful.

I'll admit that neither Patrick or Becky were likely to win the competition, but they were considerably better than many who made the cut last night.Brenna (or even Heather) should've gone before Becky. But Patrick ... he wasn't good or bad. He was just bland.

It's all Taylor is fabulous and Brenna is the devil. Ha!
Katherine was sitting right behind Brenna when Ryan Seacrest told her she was safe. Katherine looked at the girl next to her with a very confused and stunned expression.
I saw that too, and I don't think I've ever seen it on AI before--open contempt for another performer. It's kinda refreshing though, because we all have contempt for Brenna :)
And speaking of Katherine ... she might be one of those ruthless types that Simon spoke of in his interview. Either that, or she just doesn't have any patience for people like Brenna who have no business being in the top 24.

We may have found Brenna's one redeeming quality- she's not putting on any airs like the rest. WYSIWYG with her apparently and is not true of many of them if we are to take Simon at his word. Simon did make a comment pretty much like what you said, regarding her. He said something like -- he liked her. Something about he'd rather be around people that treat you the same all the time, instead of nice one minute and mean the next. At least you knew where you stood with her.
To: retrokitten
Wow that doesn't even look like herHere are some other Pickler pics in case you missed 'em.

Having listened to his CD, I have become a fan. I'm just torn between voting for him and not. I hope he gets to say, 6th place and then leaves before he gets swalloed by the ridiculous theme nights ( e.g. DISCO) that is sure to come. They didn't do any themes last year. The contestants pretty much picked their own songs. Some were felled by their own swords last year. jmo
I like to see how they do in other genres. It was one of the reasons I wanted to see the one that sang classical or opera continue. Isn't she one of the gals that got booted last night?

Agree completely and have said as much. See what Clive did to Bo as exhibit A. Dreadful. I didn't care for Bo so I haven't heard his album, but Carrie's isn't all pop. Her album is pretty good.
I like 3 or 4 of the songs on her album. The rest are so so in my opinion, but I chalk that up to personal preference. I think she should stick to one type of music per album though. jmo

I want him to create and just be himself instead of going too "commercial". He's got too much BLUES and originality in him that needs to be let out and I don't think Clive Davis can give us that kind of an album. We had this same discussion last year about Carrie Underwood. Some thought that she would be "forced" into a pop album if she won. She wasn't. In fact, her CD "Some Hearts" is the fastest selling debut album in Country music history.
So if Taylor wins, and if he proves that Blues is his niche, then he will have a Blues album.
