The tall blonde guy who had the grunge cowboy look on this week's shows did a passable version of 'Broken Road' (a song I love, BTW). I'm willing to give him a chance. I know--when I first saw him I thought he would be an easy cut. But, surprisingly, his voice has a very nice quality.
He was interviewed on the local news too, and he seemed very down to earth. A likable guy.

I simply do not have a fix on the girl dressed in brown in that photo. Same here. Even with her looks, she's forgettable. I don't even remember her singing--at all. It's doubtful she'll make it out of the semi-finals.

I think you're correct--she's trying to imitate Carrie.Yeah, except someone should tell Ms. Pickler that the original is ALWAYS better than a cheap knock-off. Carrie is a whole heck of a lot prettier than Ms. Pickler, and she has the right voice for her chosen genre of Country music. Neither the industry as a whole, nor the Country genre are going to accept two young female singers of the same time one right after the other.

Even with her looks, she's forgettable.OK, this is a perfect opening to tease you and the other guys on this thread. That girl does have a very nice set of...do I have to say it?! A nice pair is something I thought no guy ever thought of as forgettable. :-)

Carrie is a whole heck of a lot prettier than Ms. PicklerI didn't want to say that at first, but it's so true :)
I'll be very interested to see how the voters respond to Kellie Pickler.

I suspect that younger contestants..those under 18..bring stage parents with them...which Cowell can't stand..

I say that as someone who is blessed/cursed with a Southern accent of my own. When she auditioned and said "Reeeeeeally?" it set my teeth on edge. It didn't sound real. Like John Edwards' syrupy twang...
You took the words right out of my mouth. She seems to try too hard to annunciate with the southern twang, very superficial.

Whenever I hear her speak for more than a few minutes--ack, it's just too sweet. Like pouring too much sugar in your Corn Flakes.

lol! I know. I have never known a true southerner to talk that way and yet that it is how it is always portrayed. Sure we have a twang but not THAT pronounced. She's like an actress who is trying to "do" a southern accent in a film and fails miserably because she overdid it. :) John Edwards is exactly the same way. He annoys me when he speaks.
