Lots you should know,
Jack Bauer was an antiterroism agent working for the U.S gov.
He has the authority to kill at will to get his man.
Show is in real time ie a one hour show covers one hour in his day. He defied the president and had to fake his death at the end of last season, they left it in a real Qui Chang Kane moment ala Kung Fu. Wandering alone with nobody knowing anything about him. Only two people know he is alive,Tony and Michelle.

I caught it first in back to back episodes run over a holiday weekend. My daughter could not believe I had never watched it..She has already alerted me that it starts tonight. It's a very good show..though I usually do not like shows that do not wrap up the story in one episode.

24 is an action, suspense, drama, involving National Security issues (such as terrorism). All the action supposedly takes place in one 24-hour period, spread out over the viewing year. Each week presents the next 'hour' in the 24 hours.

24 is a high tension drama showing 24 hours in a national security crisis situation, as the Counter Terrorism Unit, CTU, tries to find the bad guys and take them out.

Fox wouldn't dare step on 24.
My local Fox is bad about interrupting regular programming to broadcast college basketball. It is irritating. They tend to reschedule the missed broadcasts in the wee hours of the night--but without watching the channel, one doesn't know the exact time or date of the rebroadcast.
A couple of seasons ago, FX broadcast the previous week's 24 in a couple of different time slots. That was good for those who missed the Fox broadcast. FX didn't do that last season, however.
