Welllllllllll.... Rush is in the LA area for a golf tournament this week....
And he did get the first 4 episodes early....
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
I don't know. I'm intrigued. I know a lot of "top stars" are said to want to cameo '24' or maybe even have a little run.
I just know that from now on I am going to refer to Mexican flank steaks as "Bauer" steaks.
That's "McClain", John McClain to be exact (unless they put a silent 'e' on the end). Also known as "Roy".
I caught that too. I still don't know how he found out. It is probably a mole at CTU, undisclosed to us as yet.
I thought there was a CTU mole last night...I could be wrong.
Love your tagline, Flank You Very Much for all the craziness on this thread.
Also, I thing Rush would be a great addition to the show. FLOTUS is definately a dittohead, but POTUS is a Frankenhead - or is that Flankemhead?!?!?
who is the mole you are talking about? Was that report on the show, I can't recall it.
Not to worry, but the official rules of this thread is that you are not allowed to post anything like "spoilers", meaning things you have learned in advance about the show, until after that part of the show has come and gone, when you can gloat about knowing it.
People are reading this thread while watching, and do not want to know ahead of time what is coming.
You are allowed to post spoilers somewhere else, and provide links to them, for those who just have to know what is coming up.
The rule is for the enjoyment of everybody, as I'm sure you can see now.
And even Palmer wasn't really great at the start, because he was feeling his way through a new crisis, not sure who to trust. By year two he knew who to trust.
It's more fun though knowing that just when Jack is ready to wrap things up, the CIC can force the agents to drag him back to CTU so the bad guys can get away. Last year he was ready to take our Marfan and they sent in an agent to force him out, tipping Marfan off to their presence.
Logan is a guy who is very insecure, so he never knows what to do and listens to one or two other people, usually the wrong person. He then deliberately goes against other people, to "prove" his manhood.
Was answered on another board. YTG is played by Mark Sheppard who was also in "In the Name of the Father" with Daniel Day Lewis.
He's slated for six more episodes.
>>>WTF!!! Mountainous terrain in Iowa?<<<
There are some mighty high bluffs along the Mississippi River... :)
One of those Hollywood "oopsies"...like one I caught on a recent show where it mentioned a character having grown up in Wisconsin on a farm a few miles East of Sheboygan. Only thing wrong with that is immediately East of Sheboygan is Lake Michigan.
I must've missed something there, as I'm not clear on why Palmer wanted to talk to the FLOTUS in the first place? What's his point about talking to her? Shouldn't he be talking to Logan?
He should have played one of the "Rush"ians (ducks)
For lack of a better word, Logan is a moron and he hasn't a clue about anything. Palmer was a much more decisive Pres. He took charge and knew what decisions were the right ones.
The White House guy(Sean Astin)looks like a most intriguing character. In the coming weeks as the "moles" shake out will only make in better.
Apparently I committed a "spoiler" penalty last night. OOPS NOT AGAIN, I PROMISE!!!!
Great show. Here's my top 10 odd things for tonight:
1) How could they know that every terrorist had a different detonator with a different frequency? If they were all supposed to blow up, it would make more sense for all of them to be rigged together.
2) How could they reprogram a cell phone to send a different frequency? And if they did, how did it still work to talk to them?
3) And how was he talking to CTU while his cell phone was rebooting?
4) The WMD looked like it was in some concrete bunker which had been broken into, a large hole in more than a foot of concrete. How could that take place at an airport and nobody know?
5) The whole special keycode to open that thing seemed contrived -- what were they trying to prevent?
6) The misdirection seems a bit contrived as well. In any REAL hostage situation, the airport would be locked down for HOURS, nobody in or out, and all the hostages would have been taken under custody just to make sure none of the bad guys had stripped down to regular clothes. You would have to plan for that -- so why would your plan require that the place blow up, but your guy gets out with the key card, and then meets with other people to remove WMD from the airport through what should be a sealed perimeter?
7) How did they jam JUST jack's cell phone, but not any of the communication of the rest of the CTU team, and not their own cell phones? And if they had that ability, why didn't they just do that right off as a precaution?
8) I don't care how important Walt is, I just can't believe that FLOTUS doesn't have secret service protecting her. SS would assume that ANYBODY could be bribed to attack, and wouldn't trust anybody except maybe the president.
9) Of course that should mean she shouldn't have been able to get out of the room either, except I guess that girl was the SS agent in charge of watching her? In which case she never would have let her go alone, so I'm confused on that one.
10) Jack left CTU 18 months ago. How could an entire SWAT team have forgotten the "old" duress code in only 18 months? It was clear Jack was trying to say SOMETHING. Nobody even questioned it. Curtis didn't even tell his team to watch not to shoot at that position like Jack said.
Other stuff:
1) Jack saw the yellow-tie guy. It was out of character for Jack to let the guy get away while he messed around with the reunion stuff. Not a plot error, just that Jack doesn't make too many mistakes, and that was a big one.
I wish they'd do the entire season in 2-hour steps. But then it would end too soon.
I actually have the script of Rush's "24" appearance.
Theme: "My City was Gone"
Rush: "What? I know it's a three hour difference. It's still Noon on the east coast and I'm going to have my cigar!... buh buh buh uh... Greetings ladies and gentlemen... Excellence in Broadcasting is on the air!..."
Announcer: "LIVE from Sunny South California via New York City... it's OPEN LINE FRIDAY"
Rush: "Yes yes yes.. I, an experienced radio talk show host, take an extreme risk every Friday by opening the critical issue of topic selection to you... rank amateurs. Lot's to get to today, but first let's go straight to the phones... ummm... JACK in a "Flank Two Position"... Welcome to Open Line Friday"
Bauer: "Rush... Thank God! My cell phone battery is about to die. Tell Chloe to send the building schematics of the Liquor Store at 5th and Marshall to my screen.
And I've got to tell you. Those Dems don't understand what it's like on the front lines of terror. I've been in and out of CTU for over 5 years and I've done more in 5 days than those punks in Washington have done in their whole...."
Rush: "Jack? Jack? Darn... he was doing so well and he was going to make me look good, too. HA HA HA! Okay... let's go to Behrooz in Los Angeles. You're on Open Line Friday."
