Jack can will his kidneys to slow down until there is a break in the action; if he has to attend some suck-up mtg at CTU, he will excuse himself and take care of all bodily functions within 10 minutes, or until the mtg is over.

who was the prez who took over from Palmer when the faction said Palmer was incapacitated ciz he hesitated about going to war in response to the nuke bomb? That's who I thought you meant.

Jack goes to the bathroom all the time, when the camera is not on him. That's not a mystery. No tv or film ever follows the cast into the bathroom, unless its part of the plot--like in the Harrison Ford Amish movie, Witness.

No, that was Season 2 and the VP was named Jim Prescott.
Palmer resigns from the Presidential race at the end of Season 3 and Keeler wins the election that occurs after Season 3.
Keeler is on Air Force One and it is show down in Season 4. Keeler is in a coma (he is really dead but Fox wouldn't allow them to kill a sitting President on screen) so Logan is sworn in as President.

It's a running joke among 24 fans that Jack never eats, sleeps, goes to the bathroom, or recharges his cell phone throughout the entire season.
Although, in the beginning of Season 2, he is seen in the bathroom after shaving off his beard.
