A movie about gay cowboys?

Not cowboys, goat ropers.

I see from your user posts that you're quite the apologist for homosexuals. Won't fly well here.

The only reason the "gay" agenda has made the inroads it has made is because everyone else was tolerant, asleep at the wheel, and not paying attention.

Now people are starting to pay attention, and people like you are accusing US of being obsessed. If you really want to educate yourself about the "gay" agenda, you can click this link and spend some time reading about what it really is:

Right, right. The president and I are liberals because we aren't obsessed with homosexuals.

Actually, the President and you can do what you want and based upon your objective actions I might judge them liberal. The President has not signed or initiated any homosexual coupling legislation that I am aware of.

As to obsession with homosexuals -you too would appear to be caught within the broad net you cast; however, it appears that you support the homosexual agenda. If I and others like me are obsessed with opposing the homosexual agenda and you oppose my position it would naturally follow from your 'liberal' reasoning that YOU are obsessed with promulgating the homosexual agenda. I think the difference between us is that I voice my opposition openly while you do so surreptitiously...

Does anyone remember when "Klute" and "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" were released? The Left went intensely apey over THOSE films, too.

Just look at their history of taste and you'll find that whatever the Left goes apey over, is a good idea will be objectionable, nauseating and hideous.

This is one of those films that is objectionable, nauseating and hideous and so, thus, the Left goes apey. Cries. Writes article after article.

I've deduced this all down to the fact that most people, your average person, is heterosexual, conservative about fiscal matters, somewhat tolerant of other people as long as they don't mess with the yard/car/house/kids/local parks/grocerystore/streets nearby/publicpool/privatepool/dogs/cats/utilities/job(s)/lunchbreak/coffee/coffeebreak/retirementplans/savingsandloans/fishingspot/quiltingbee/gardenclub/rotarymeetings/andmostofallTHETRUCK...

But that these articles, these disgusting "films" and performances and oozes over awful are the result of the minority devoting far more intensity and time to write about abnormalities.

And so the rest of us, we're left to write about it.

I just had a thought do you think this is hollywoods idea of preparing the people for a democratic president? I mean do you think the more they make gay lifestyle normal because we know how the dems feel about it, then when their dem nominee goes with the gay supporative stand it will have less condemation. Or maybe it will just backfire on them. I wish I did have some money I would love to make a movie about an exgay cowboy per se. Maybe if people took a grassroots drive to come up with the money and do just that.Or better yet make a movie about the reality of what the gay movement is really up to. Of course it would have to be done in secret for fear of lives being taken. But them maybe some moderate muslims could be a part of it and then see what the libs say. Wow think about it all the christians and muslims and jews some together to stick up for the traditional family, one man. one woman.

My daughter wants to see the BBM because of that Jake guy can't remember his last name far be it for me to remember how to spell it. And yes she knows there is a gay sex scene. But she thinks this guy is sooo hot. She actually made me and my husband sick when she was talking about it. Now shes 28 and makes her own decisions but I am glad she does not have kids because she has turned into a hollywood celebrated liberal. She is a writer and seeing movies is her consolation for not being celebrated herself as a writer. I pray for her.

If hollywood makes a movie, and nobody sees it... can it still win an Oscar?

Perhaps Hollywood should make a movie in regards to the growing number of ex-gays

Here's an interesting site: Queers by Choice.  They list myths about queer by choice: Myths About Queer by Choice People.

The above site claims that 8% of the gay community is gay by choice. What this further demonstrates is that people can be confused about their sexuality.

This movie would probably be better, I imagine, if Clint came in at the end as in Unforgiven, to finish things off. Ah, Unforgiven, remember when Westerns were cool?

Like a Rhinestone Cowboy... Yes you are correct, any westerns done from the 60's on, the heros are feminized sissies who would rather talk their way out of a situation then shoot their way out. John Ford must be turning in his grave!

I must protest this. In none of Clint Eastwood's westerns is he anything remotely like a sissy. Haven't you seen Fist full of dollars, Good the bad & the ugly, or The Outlaw Josey Wales?

It is disgusting and it is propaganda that will hurt more people than not. What needs to be done is a movie showing a man move through the process of being molested by an older man, thinking he is a homosexual, then trying to live the gay lifestyle and then finally finding comfort in his true heterosexual nature. That would be a movie I'd watch. Brokeback Mountain is crud trying to make people feel pity and sympathy for the poor gay cowboys who just want to love one another.

I agree. It is sick to equate sexual perversion with civil rights.

Brokeback Mountain': Rape of the Marlboro Man

Anyone who has debated me over the years on FR on gay issues knows I tend to take a somewhat libertarian approach to such.

However, I've friggin' had enough. If you want to do the rump jump in the privacy of your own home between consenting adults, that's your business. But if you want to ram the damn gay agenda down our throats everywhere I turn, you have lost any political support I might have once considered giving your cause.

That is what is absolutely crazy. I heard someone comparing it to the Passion of the Christ. lol One has to put things into perspective and understand that putting a "gay" stamp on a movie is always going to produce overwhelming support from Hollywood especially after the stiff rebuke that gay rights has been given as states one after another ban gay marriage.

It's too bad we can't get the I Do Exist video in the theaters. It's a 52 minute video on the story of 5 ex-gays. I've been giving away copies of the video to local leaders in hopes of informing our town that ex-gays do exist.

Yes propaganda does if it didn't companies wouldn't bother paying Hollywood actors to advertise products or invest in million dollar marketing campaigns. I worked on several telemarketing jobs in a previous life and it provided an interesting look into human psychology. One thing that became clear was that women are on an order of magnitude more gullible than men mainly because they are more easily emotionally manipulated. I'm not trying to be sexist, it is just a fact that you will be hard pressed to find studied seriously let alone admitted to. Brokeback Mountain, if it changes any minds, will primarily impact women and men who think like women. The rest of us won't see it because we are not interested in seeing men kissing other men just as we do not wish to see a cowboy attempting to keep warm by buggering a cow.
The thing is that if a movie such as that were made it would change some minds because of the nature of sex and the inability that so many have in separating sexual desire from emotional fulfillment which is one of the reasons so many end up chasing down dark corridors trying to find fulfillment of their hearts in the stimulation of their libido. The horrible result of promotion and acceptance of homosexuality is that it has driven men and women who otherwise would have great friendships into unholy distortions of human sexuality where they will never truly be fulfilled.

As do I, just not to the same extent.

But if you want to ram the damn gay agenda down our throats everywhere I turn, you have lost any political support I might have once considered giving your cause.

Hear hear.

I've heard more of the same from other folks, so it appears the agenda has been pushed past the comfort zone (for lack of a better term) for many folks who were closer to the libertarian side of the fence.

We went to see The Chronicles of Narnia this morning and saw a friend (Renee) in line who was seeing another movie. I asked her if she knew anything about BM and she shook her head in disgust. But Renee's female friend was really excited about it and couldn't wait to see it. From the look on Renee's face it appeared she saw a side of her friend she didn't really know.

The horrible result of promotion and acceptance of homosexuality is that it has driven men and women who otherwise would have great friendships into unholy distortions of human sexuality where they will never truly be fulfilled.

Well said.

Thanks. What happens, I think, is so many have a very juvenile view of sex, which is not surprising but also ironic given that sex is presented in the most vulgar ways possible in attempts to "celebrate" it in our "informed" modern world. I'm not saying that because I am immune but only that I understand exactly because I am not. Some will go to the movie because someone like Katie Couric (the cute little nothing that she is) endorses it others because it is "the thing to see" others because they want to see two men "get it on". I personally don't go to movies for a change in world view no more than I would go to one to get a sense of what car to purchase or to find out what weaponry is useful in the event of an unlikely alien invasion but some will as some adults still believe fairy tales even such truly fanciful ones as "Broke Back Mountain".
