Looking outside now, you'd never guess that half the town was jolted out of bed with rumbling thunderstorms around midnight. Its beautiful here now. Sunny, soft breeze and warm.
FOFLOL.
Indeed it would (at least those who haven't already gone loony). I did not realize it until today but Stephens is, when his votes are measured against those of the court's conservatives, the most liberal Supreme. Sad to think that he was appointed by President Ford.
One hesitates before asking, "Where was the other half?"
and do they realize what fun sleep they're missing?
ABC made a lame attempt to stir up a scandal about Scalia but it looks like that has fallen flat.
Weeeeeell, not everyone is in bed at that hour of the night. LOL
Was that the "scandal" involving the Federalist Society?
Look at the picture carefully and see the woman´s face.
Yes. They tried to make a big deal out of it and it was nothing. Scalia wouldn't give them an inch, he said, (paraphrasing) 'I was out of town. I had a commitment that I could not break, and you were told that by the public information office. They kept on about who and where and what. Scalia shot back, (again paraphrasing) It doesnt matter what it was. It was a commitment that I couldn't break. LOL
I really like his style. Some of his written opinions are a hoot.
...... I see a very large head with an enormous nose that looks a great deal like Bubba's nose. but I can't for the life of me see a woman's face.
I love him. The press thought they were gonna make something out of a duck hunting to Louisiana he took with the Vice President about a year ago. That one fell flat, too.
Three or four more. That's all we ask.
Janice Rogers Brown is the far rights dream judge, said People For the American Way President Ralph G. Neas. She embodies Clarence Thomass ideological extremism and Antonin Scalias abrasiveness and right-wing activism. Giving her a powerful seat on the DC Circuit Court would be a disaster.
If they're against her, I'm for her. She'd make a great Justice of the Supreme Court!
I see on some of the other threads that our, "true conservatives" the mosly unappeasables are all foaming at the mouth over the election of Rep John Boehner as the new majority leader. They've gone off half-cocked, as usual, primarily because they didn't like the way he voted on a Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act. Of course, they only looked to see how he voted without looking into why he voted as he did. In fact, he supports almost all the bill with one small exception. He has said that he feels that part can be rewritten to make it less burdensome on small businesses.
LOL. Yes, with opponents like that, I'm certain she'd be an excellant choice. I'd like to see her take a swat at Chuckie Schummer, that pig Ted Kennedy, Leahy and the rest of those jerks.
I have always liked Boehner and felt that he was unjustly pushed aside a few years back, graciously accepting his fate. He carries some baggage but is, I think, quite capable of holding his own against the press and the Dems.
I agree. He behaved well back then and has been a loyal pubbie. Plus, he has gained a measure of poise since those days and that will serve him well.
