Enjoy your walk.
Freezing temps here, so I think I'll just relax with hot coffee, and play with the computer for as long as the wife lets me.
Maybe I'll write something. Gotta do it sometime, ya know.

Yeah. I'm trying to avoid going out for as long as possible--or at least until it hits freezing.

Of course you would be suspicious...Suspicious because you know that I have THE TRUTH! I know what's going on and it's clear that...

300 posts in less than 11 hours!!! You folks are completely out of control ! ! Nah. Just running at twice the average rate needed to reach 10,000 posts in a month.

We need to compensate for potential holiday lag.

Nice new digs. Is anybody else up? I am, now. Looked outside and saw we're getting more snow. It's on-again/off-again, which means this is a serious snowfall. It may wreak havoc with our plans (including the Puget Sound Chapter of Free Republic Christmas Party this evening), but it looks nice -- and it meant it's a good time to start upgrading the Linux box from SUSE 9.1 to 10.0.
(Unfortunately the poor wife has to go out and work for a couple hours today -- despite our 4WDs, we barely made it up the hill to home last night.)

Everyone knows that our minds are controlled by satellites, anyway.
Oops...Tinfoil helmet slipped off. In case you hadn't seen it, there's a study that shows that tinfoil helmets may not work. You'll need an absorbent material for your helmet, instead of reflective.

Wow! My first time B4TZ!
Can I have some wine? Sorry. The ZOT was weeks ago. You have now entered this month's home of the Undead Thread.
Would you like some "Poblachd Saorsa," (in English, "Free Republic") the best whisky straight from The Official Distillery of the Undead ThreadTM?

There's a kind of energy to a ZOT! thread that you don't find in the average one. Even a prolonged Zotting like this one.
People tend to rush to get their responses posted, sometimes not checking basic things like the Zottee's sign-on date, and other pertinent factors.
Enthusiasm, God bless it!
Other threads seem less spontaneous, even when the discussion gets more fiery, and the subject matter is more combustible.
It's kinda like a native dance around the campfire, a celebration of unity and community spirit.
Intoxicating, slightly.
Good thing the Mods are there to be our designated drivers.

Yes, it is odd. I have absolutely no idea how I wound up on 49, coming from the 700s.

"... this is the December Chronicle? " And this will be a significant Chronicle, too.
We're going to be conducting our Holiday and Festivus activities, our Winter Solstice events, and on December 27th, the fiery initiation of the Undead Thread's Space Adventures. (The Moon Expedition was only a test run.)
A lot of packing, animal gathering, crop sowing and harvesting, equipment testing, and other preparation work and communal activites will be occurring, too.
At the end of the month, we'll be circling around the new Moon, beginning the New Year, and heading out for a long cruise-control coast to Mars!
Woo-Hoo! -- Bring it on!
