I know.

My DH has more of a green thumb than I do, so that is convenient.

Awwww....thanks! She's pretty competetive, so she got her website up before I could, and she's been able to do more things with what she has. I often felt like an ornament around her.

But it's all good. She puts up with me, and that's saying a lot. ;o]

I went to your sisters blog, and I was pretty impressed.

Nope. I can't think that well, much less put things together like they should be. It's all redhead's.

I can't get it to work.

I'm going to go lay down for a while. I'll be back later.

A jack is a male donkey, a jenny (or sometimes jannet) is a female donkey and a mule is a hybrid cross between a mare (female horse) and a jack. If you make a horrible mistake and cross a jenny with a stud horse, you will wind up with a henny, and a more intractable animal God never made nor wanted to. A hybrid is sterile by definition, but is not necessarily neutered. In general, only the male is neutered - castration is relatively straightforward.

Left clicked there to confirm that was Powerscourt waterfall, in Co. Wicklow - the highest waterfall in Ireland, though it's tad overrated, as it is really only a trickle, more interseting waterfalls are Glencar waterfall in Lietrim, near the Sligo border:

And the Asleigh Waterfall near Killary Harbour in Mayo, it's the famous waterfall in the film 'The Field':

Have a good sleep!!

Hi, Doc! Welcome back. Your statement sounded wonderfully entertaining, but I have heard that a hinny is slightly less temperamental than a mule.

I think Col. Sherman Potter was quoted on MASH as saying the hinnies were easier to work with.

Then there's this:

Mule or Hinny? ... by Betsy Hutchins

At first glance a hinny seems to be a mule, but on closer inspection the hinny is more subtly like a horse. The hinny's head and face are often more horselike; the ears are usually shorter and sometimes rounder than a mule's ears.

The hinny usually has a fuller tail and more horselike limbs and feet than the mule, and its body is more like that of a horse. In temperament, the young hinny favors the donkey, tending to be gentler and less nervous than the young mule.

Hinnies are more likely to neigh like a horse than to bray. But, as with all equines, their voices are distinctive to the individual animal.

Neither the mule nor the hinny is simply half horse and half donkey, but is an individual animal with completely blended characteristics, plus a few new ones belonging only to itself and not found in either parent.

Again, I'm not trying to argue, I don't really have any first-hand knowledge of either.

I did, however, really appreciate this phrase, "...a more intractable animal God never made nor wanted to."

It made me think that if Father Noah had had a reason to bring either a mule or a hinny on board, he might have had to build the ark around them.
