Will it be Rocket Launch or Rocket Failure?
Clemens vs. Contreras
Gotta luv it :)
Not sure where you live but you might be able to get White Sox flagship station WMVP AM 1000
Not sure how well Astros flagship station does (KTRH 740)
To the second. 1-0 Sox.
(Go Astros!)
>>my local guys,Hawk
As in Ken "Hawk" Harrelson? He used to own a couple sub shops in the Boston area (played here for awhile). I ate more than a few times at the Hawk Shop just off the Lynnway in Lynn. (And I remember him doing Red Sox games, with Dick Stockton
IIRC)
Here in Houston, I'd prefer to listen to the Stros broadcasters - Milo Hamilton (future HOFer) and Alan Ashby, former Stros catcher - but the radio feed is about 10 seconds ahead of the TV feed. Or the TV is on a 10-second delay. Whatever. But it's very disconcerting to try it that way. Don't know if KTRH even has a live feed, but I'm sure it'd definitely be on an internet delay.
From the Astros site:
"Mayor Bill White today encouraged Houstonians to support the Houston Astros in their first ever World Series appearance against the Chicago White Sox by wearing their team gear and discarding their socks. The Mayor declared Friday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 23 "No Socks" Weekend in Houston."
A friend of mine grew up in Chicago and I believe he's a Cubs fan. Now he lives--oops, tie game! HR by Lamb...
YESS!! Mike Lamb homers!
I'm not wearing any socks.
Or shoes!
Woo Hoo! Astros homer! Lamb!
YESSS!!! Tie game 1-1. HR by Lamb.
Stros 1-1
Game on.....
Just because it will kill the real Cubs fans, I'm not talking about those posers who say they are for the Sox.
All tied up!
Hey hey hey! Did y'all catch that home run?!
as I was saying--a friend of mine grew up in Chi., a Cubs fan, and now lives near Anaheim and cheers for Angels. He was born in Oct of '59...a month after the last time a Chicago team
was in the World Series.
My Red Sox were in World Series when I was 5, 13, 24, and last year when I was 42 (am same age as Clemens, 43)
Planning on calling any shots tonight?
Phil Garner fooled everyone (or at least me). I thought his decision for DH was between Bagwell and Lamb. Instead he left Lamb in (thank God) and sat Lane.
