"...celebrate spending money instead of the birth of Jesus, which is, after all, the whole reason we have a "holiday" in the first place..."

That's true, but you don't have to buy into the PC socialists either. And the more people you remind about it, the better. Because we do forget. It upsets me that radio stations have already been playing Christmas music, way before Thanksgiving. And there's been Christmas stuff in the stores for a while now. All that commericalism really gets to me, too! I have told my kids for a number of years now, that I will give them about $200 and they can go out and buy their own stuff for Christmas. I used to buy so much crap and nobody used it anyway. LOL!

All the terrorist groups—Marxists as well as the Islamic extremists—need money to plan, organize and conduct terrorist attacks.

would just love it if we really did give into our disapointment!

I think we need to stand firm...

Years ago in the 80's some people I knew had copies made up of the famous children wooden duck on wheels and sold them down Columbus Ave. so many yuppies bought them for reminiscences

What I am saying we should resurrect those fun things we knew during Christmas and make available again over the net!

Do you remember the Christmas trinkets the coat pins of blinking lights like a snonman, Rudolf nose, angles ete.

To me all these gagets and gismos were to bring smiles and lift our spirits to appreciate the Joys of life a gift from the Lord!

I loath all white lights I like all the cheerful colors it really have magic to see at this time of the year...the damn PC folks change it to all white light which was drab this times of the year...

We know it is not true day of the birth of our Lord, but the Lord spirit was always present to weld Goodwill towards all followman across the global...

To try do away with Christmas is to shut out the Love of God!

Again I say we must stand firm to pressforward with the Lord message of Goodwill to all of His Creation!

MASH

Hi Paul,

The picture is mount Timpanogos, 12,000 ft high, taken from the west side of the town of Pleasant Grove, Utah. To the right side is Orem, and to the right of Orem is Provo, a college town home to Brighan Young University. Salt Lake City is thirty miles to the left (north).

Timp is along the Wasatch front, a range of mountain stretching from 50 miles north of Salt lake city to about 100 miles south. Timp is at the junction of the Wasatch front and the High Uintas, the only east-west mountain range in North America. This has pushed it up a little higher than the surrounding mountains.

The High Uintas cover about 10,000 square miles in northern Utah, southern Wyoming, and eastern Colorado. They are our summer playground.

It wasn't bad at the mall where I work, especially not in our store. Men are civilized shoppers, and we had a TV on playing the UT/Aggie game, so all was well.

We have a Georgetown here, just north of Austin, but I haven't heard of any jazz clubs there.

I think it's called black Friday because stores make a profit today... but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Have a great time!
