Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hehehe....the panting plant technique.
I once planted bulbs with some kind of meal....bloodmeal or bonemeal, can't remember which. The neighborhood dogs loved it and dug every single bulb up.

Morning Winmag: Package arrived this a.m. and signed for it. We were out front when our mailman showed up. Engraving was fine, the advantage of using moon lettering. :-) They will be wending their way across hill and dale shortly to their intended recipients. Thanks.

New Hole, huh? I was just getting to know my way around the old one.
Morning! I have a bagel for breakfast, thanks to a very kind roommate who brought me one back while I snoozed. Today we are going to Denver to celebrate Rosie's job with the best fried chicken in the world and a trip to the guitar store and maybe a bookstore or two or the outlet malls or...

Had my breakfast; plain yogurt sweetened with Splenda and some delish granola with dried cranberries, blueberries and strawberries. Fixed another pot of coffee, so I'm gonna have another couple of cups. SirKit and I are removing A/Cs from windows and cleaning frap off the windowsills.
On top of the rain we've had for the last 8 days, including an all nighter last night with steady rain, we're expecting ANOTHER storm this afternoon with some wind gusts predicted up to 40 mph! Don't need those big old honking things sticking out of the windows! It's getting cooler anyway, so we don't need them anymore.
SirKit said he read this morning that Worcester Airport had measured 11" of rain over the last 8 days. Needless to say, that's a record for these parts!!
