This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Even though this saddle was too small, I felt much more secure than mine. I'm also going to change to these type of stirrups. I have to hold on to mine and reach down and put my right foot in. In these I mounted better and I was able to slip my right foot right in. I also felt I could put better weight on them.
Is there any reason there are no close up pictures of you?
Ok. I'm done. Just arena pics but it was fun. Next time hopefully she'll let us out in that 450 acres.
LOL. Yeah. I stayed out of camera range. When she walked over to my horse, a horse that I knew nothing about about and told me to look at her and smile and flashed the camera right in his face I got a little concerned:')
The paint is William. I wanted him but got the stubboen one instead.
Well I stopped at the womens gym on the way home. All of that equipment looks.....painful. Sigh
It is nice when the stirrups hang right naturally and you don't have to fuss to get your foot in.

Yeah it was private. Just the two of us this time. Well 3 if you count the cheer leader.
Either Reba is not very tall, or that paint is a huge horse, or both... your legs barely hang halfway 'round him!

It was an introduction to see where we were and what our interests and goals are. Next time, I would like to go the entire day. Then start the 3 day ones. I wanted to jump right to the 3 days but Reba kind of looked at me funny:')
What does she usually do when she does a full day or a three day? Does she have a website?
Lol. I'm 5'2". (or used to be) She's supposed to be 4'8". The instructor was trying to figure who was the tallest and she picked her! She's either grown some or I'm shrinking:') The horse was short but plump too.
Not better. Just something different that I'm looking for. I'm still signed up here once a week but every one has been cancelled since Sarah Lee back. Bad weather and stuff. I have things to work on and I'm going back. If something happens here , I'm in though.

It depends. You can go with the group or get enough together and work on what you need. I'll send you a link in a minute. Ignore the left side cow penning stuff though. I'm not interested in doing anything but watching that:')
