The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Missing link makes an equine formula that might be worth checking out.

:) Have a good night and stay safe. I'm hitting the bed. This diet is draining me of energy.

What's a house pond? There sure is a lot of nice, resonable priced land up your way.

A house pond is a fish tank. Yeah, buy some of that land we could be neighbors.

Dad showed me this horse trailer company that remodels trailers with living quarters. He wants me to buy a camper that will fit on the back of the truck instead though. He says they are really nice now and I would have just as much space and could use it just traveling. I have visions of the one we used to have when we were kids. It was just a top and we slept back there on blankets all the way to California. I remember passing the Tower of Americas during the worlds fair in San Antonio at night and laying there looking at it and thinking how pretty it was.

Cindy.... Dad doesn't plan 3 day trips. I would bet it is more like two weeks.

Eddie was riding Sarah Lee today. I had Okie loose in the pasture on the other side. He was grazing and I was standing there watching. She kept resisting Eddie as he turned by us. He kept saying she sees Okie. She was watching me though. I walked to the other side of the arena and he gave her her head to see what she would do and she went right up to me and stopped, looking at me the whole time like "what's he doing on me?" I guess you had to be there but I thought it was special.

No, we are going to drive straight to phoenix for the sale Friday, go see Brett a couple of hours, stop by and eat supper with Aunt Janell in LA, then go play in Nevada one night and then pick the plane up on the way back.:') I told him I could take 2 or 3 days vacation but that's about it.

Good Morning y'all! I woke up at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep so I've been on here catching up. It's about 5am now and I'm finally current. Sounds like everybody had a great Christmas and New Years.

Hair, your Christmas card was first rate, as usual. I really enjoyed it. You'll love the GPS. A couple of my friends have them and they are really cool. I think it's so cool that they can pinpoint you to within just a few feet. You can even see yourself move around when you stop for a break and get off. I've been meaning to get one myself but just haven't gotten around to it. Your hackamores and saddle bags were really nice too. Good horsey Christmas gifts. I got a new helmet and I really like it. It fits much better than my old one. I got to try it out on a ride yesterday. I'll post pics when I get back to work.

Becky, your corral work is really nice. I'd love to have one like it. I think that's gonna be my next purchase, after I get the new saddle I've had on order since Labor Day. Your Christmas pics were really nice too. I love those dishes! You'll have to tell me what pattern they are and who makes them. The 4D ultra sound pics were really cool too. I'd never seen one of those. They are awsome! I was worried about you and the fires. I'm glad they're not near you.

Squarebarb, I'm sorry to hear that your mare has taken another turn for the worse. I had high hopes for her when you said that she was better. Hopefully they'll figure out something to help her and she'll be on the mend again.

Duchess, I was worried about you and all the flooding too. I'm glad to hear that it's going down now and you'll have your high desert back. Hopefully all this water will mean that you'll have a gorgeous spring to look forward to.

USA HL & apackof2, Welcome to the thread! New voices are always welcome!

I'm still off work for the New Years holiday so I think I'll go back to bed now that it's time to get up. ;o)

:') I'm thinking about doing the same after my husband leaves. I got up early too, to let the dog out and have been doing crosswords the last couple of hours.
