Any veternarians on board? Vanity
Posted on 09/21/2005 3:17:54 PM PDT by jsh3180
My vet is out of town for several days. My dog just dropped a pup about an hour ago, The x ray my vet took last week said to expect 3. Any idea how long between pups? She's panting like crazy and the first is a girl!!

Anyone interested in adopting a homeless Papillon? Go to http://www.papillonclub.org/rescue/ to learn about how to adopt one.
Neal Boortz recently helped a rescue Papillon find a new home. Neal has a Papillon he mentions occasionally.

It's a shame what indiscriminate pairings can do to a fine breed. GSDs had been on a generally qualitative downswing for 50 years with the exception of a few carefully monitored bloodlines.
The opening of eastern europe has provided an infusion of fresh genetics and I have advocated and encouraged anyone who might be considering bringing one of "those dogs," to the US to go ahead and do so.

When you see dogs that literally walk on their hocks, you know someone needs to have their heads examined. It's mind-boggling what AKC show people have done to their side of the GSD breed. WHAT are they thinking???

Perfect example. My shep (pics on profile) arrived in this world via the Monks of New Skete and the former Czechoslovokia. The monks are truly dedicated to preservation of the breed at its best and the former commie block breeders weren't all that concerned with AKC conformity.
I'm adopting a NO / Katrina rescue Shepherd that looks like his little brother, apart from some apparent skeletal / posture influence from the AKC. He tested + for heartworms and is currently undergoing treatment. Will post pics of him as soon as possible. The shelter where I do volunteer work has an exceptional specimen of what I call a "retro-shepherd" that looks like he stepped out of a 19th century German pasture, from a pre-Rin Tin Tin era. Physically, he's a stud, though not as big as my Timber.

George: Algae, obviously plankton, I don't know what else I can tell you. Oh, I just got back from a trip to the Galapagos Islands, I was living with the turtles.
