Men may have larger brains, but it depends on what we use that excess capacity for; most likely visual-spatial analysis. For a simple example, a dog's brain is smaller than a human's, but large percentage of the dog's brain is dedicated to smell. Thus, an animal with a smaller brain can detect and discriminate scent molecules a human couldn't hope to discern.

Wasn't there a similar argument a few months ago concerning a certain university professor who suggested a similar thing and he almost got hung for his suggestion that women were inferior in a certain field? Are the liberals all over the world going to attack the British Journal of Psychology for now making that same point?

It takes more intelligence to be a hunter of wild game than a gatherer of berries.

Men of genius often have a single-minded commitment to their vocations, visions and ideas, and the willingness to defend them against all critics and attackers.

Women, on the other hand, tend to prefer maintaining and nurturing relationships, and favour discussing and soothing feeling instead of the cut and thrust of vigorous debate.

This isn't to say that there are no women who have the hallmarks of genius, just that there are far fewer of them than men.

The truth is that intelligence comes in different flavors. Men are better at things that require concentration on a single task but a women will do better at multitasking. When you want to find something in the house do you ask the man or the woman? When you what the car fixed who do you ask?
