Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I actually think I've got one already,
if a unit is available. A one-bedroom for $490. Still more than I'd like to budget at my current income. So I keep looking, and asking firends to keep ears open.
Meanwhile I wonder which of my cousin's qualities I should emulate given his success.

I guess it helps to have good matchmaker friends.

PE - ouch! ouch! ouch! The funny part of this is the large slice at my navel. I took that figuratively when the knife weilder was describing it. I thought he meant above, below, something. Nope, he done sliced muh belly button in two.

Ho. Lee. Cow.
On the live Katrina thread they just said someone from the National Hurricane Center said on local radio "flocks of snakes and turtles are heading inland."
Remember how the animals came in before the tsunami hit?

Yeah, I saw that....and the herd of birds. :)
Also saw the part where foreign tourists had no idea there's a hurricane on the way.
To: Overtaxed
So what happens to the stray tourists? Do the go the pound too?

Dunno....does the pound take tourists?
To: Professional Engineer; Overtaxed
So what happens to the stray tourists? After this is all over, their surving families sue the bejeebers out of the hotels that didn't tell them to leave.

There's some way to make it a really funny joke by saying it's by marriage, but I can't figger it out...

Dunno...I suppose they could be euthanized, but that might lower the chances of another flock anytime soon.

At the mo', it's residue from the non-dishwasher safe cup somebody put in the dishwasher.
Sitting here with the AC off and the windows open and the bathroom fans going.
Smells like somebody lit too many candles.
