Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

One of my characters is traveling in Pennsylvania with her five-year-old son, and I suddenly thought it would be cool for her to explain how to pronounce it, just before all h*ll breaks loose ...

PA is a nice state and don't you go abusing it.
It rains a lot, so that can help with your "lack of seeing the car" thing, I think.

Time fer me to hit the hay. Just made Jen listen to a bit of "Time in a Bottle" since she's never heard of Jim Croce.
Heh...it's a bit late for "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "You Don't Mess Around with Jim" and the like...
I'll bug folks for prayer agin in the morning, for a 10:30 interview!

Yes, they call it the "California stop," or the PIT maneuver ...

I think my favorite Croce song is "Operator."
Isn't that the way they say it goes?
Well, let's forget all that
And give me the number,
If you can find it,
So I can call
Just to tell 'em I'm fine,
And to show
I've overcome the blow,
Learned to take it well,
I only wish my words
Would just convince myself
That it just wasn't real ...
But that's not the way it feels ...

I like "Operator", too, but "Time In a Bottle" always makes me cry. He died only a year after that song was released, so he never really got to enjoy his success, and he left a wife and young child behind.

Careful placement of the rocks and you can have a zen garden as well as a functional rock lined drainageway. Corin could use some Zen, I daresay.

'Morning.
I gotta go learn how to lead myself in a situation. :)

Heh. Those classes are such fun. Not.
Although it's a great racket to be in. Manager-types will always fork over lots of cash to the "consultants" to train their workforce and thus absolve themselves of any responsibility.
To: Lil'freeper
They emailed me some "preparation material." Looked like a PowerPoint presentation. Yuk! I'd rather play in the Access database.

Looked like a PowerPoint presentation. An old Army joke, with apologies to Patton:
"No one ever won a war by making powerpoint slides for his country. You win a war by making the other poor bastard make powerpoint slides for *his* country."

Oh my stars! LOL! What a mess!
Sounds like a good time, though!
I never could get into chat, and then Steve came home.

Not only does powerpoint suck brain power away from users, it can effectively kill threads.
Harumph.
To: 2Jedismom
Thank you for rescuing the thread!
My yogurt turned out much better this time. Still a bit runny, but it is tart and yummy. Hurray! Proper food.

Heh!
So I guess my idea is out of the question, should just go ahead and think about getting a regular generator for my deep freeze.
It would last a long time without anything, I have all the spaces filled with frozen bottles of water.

I don't know of one store-bought yogurt that doesn't have some sort of thickener...except Dannon Natural, and I really suspect they filter theirs to make it thick...it just has the filtered consistency.
You can filter yours too...just line a big sieve with coffee filters, dump the yogurt in on top and suspend it over a bowl over night in the fridge. A lot of the whey will filter out and collect in the bowl and the yogurt won't be so runny. Of course the whey is very good for you and you can use it in cooking stuff like pancakes and such.
Personally, I have learned to love the runnier texture...you know I tried adding instant milk to mine and that does make a thicker product but I thought it had too much of a "milk" flavor as aposed to a clean yogurt flavor.
