New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Couple of blocks away.
I love that! Especially since his delivery is so solemn!
Been catchin' up on the Katrina news. It don't look good for Louisiana.
Looks like it might reach cat 5.
Roger. I can't imagine.
They're already evacuating. This may be the one we're talking about for years.
Have you been keeping up with the Katrina thread? Someone said the Dimwit LA governor saying "it will be a positive experience for all of us."
Just reported on the Hurricane thread, contraflow ~one way traffic out~ starts in an hour...

I didn't see that but I did see the comment from the CNN weatherchik that said "if the pressure drops that's good for us"...
And you know, it won't be the stupid ones that get blowed away.
LOL!!
Yeah they were talking about that on the thread. There's nothing quite like embarrassing yourself on national television.
The concept of evacuating out of the path of something that is a few states in diameter is a concept I can't imagine either. Where would we go, if we were in Louisiana with three horses, a couple dogs, and not very much time?
Their choice is getting hit really hard, or just a little less hard.
I think you'd make choices you wouldn't want to make.
True enough.... Like taking them to Texas.
Speaking of Texas.... I hear the rally there had a great turnout.
Yeah, but I'm not sure it got much coverage.
Haven't been watching till now, we were watching a WWII special.
Corin, yes they do and they bloom earlier than the hostas.
But if that thing hits New Orleans - it's below sea level, it's practically built on mud - getting out of the city has to be a good idea.
I'm very glad I don't live somewhere that gets hurricanes. My one friend is from New Orleans and his brother's a cop there - bet the cops don't get evacuated...
Oh heck no! Who do you think has to go out in that crap and stop the looting! And yes, their are idjits who will go out in the howling winds to try to haul home a new tv.
Idjits!
Yep... that's what I figured. People are morons. I'd have been out of there yesterday....
