Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We're back! If we had gone to our regular church, I swear, we wouldn't even be out of the drive yet.

It's only one hour long. The one at our church is 2 hours. Then there is the drive up there which is 20 minutes. No point in me coming home, so I have to sit in the library for 2 hours till it's over. Then a 20 minute drive home. And honestly, it's probably twice as long to get out of the church parking lot than it is down my street to this church!
Most of the time I've been gone I was visiting with a friend of mine while the RA's got wrapped up.
Matthew came home with a little booklet to be filled with dimes ($3) for SBC World Hunger Relief. He was very enthusiastic, so that's a good thing.

It certainly sounds a lot better to stick with the one closer to home!

Well, I know that kids will be kids, but I just don't think it will be as likely for some kid to bellow "HOLY CRAP" at my son if there's only 12 in the room. Seems like to me you get too many kids in a room, you can't monitor them well enough.
They've done Awanas at our church and liked it just fine, but I want them to do something "missions" focused and have for a while. But they're not going to learn anything in a crowd that big. Honestly, I bet there's 3-500 kids there for Awanas...it's a madhouse.
So this smaller group will be better, I think...and the focus is
purely on missions.

What a wonderful group.
I'll have to tell my sister about it so she can get Daniel involved.

See, I did GA's when I was a kid and then Acteens...that's what comes after...junior high and up, I think. It's all under the North American Mission Board. I loved it. RA's is the male equivalent.
The NAMB, by the way, is also over the disaster relief branch that I joined.

That's a hard situation...I don't have to deal with really big egroups, thankfully...and if I did I would make sure I had a moderator with the same privileges as me!

I was rooting for Karl Urban's character instead of the good guy.Yeah, he was a cool character, even though he was a BAAAAD guy! He was awful skinny in that movie, wasn't he?
