Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Did you get your new roof on? Wasn't that what you were doing last weekend?

Well, the floured board thing *works* but it didn't get any tracks on it. I looked first thing this morning. Then I set the board up on top of the coop so the chickens wouldn't walk through it when I let them out and then just a few minutes ago I went out and you could see distinct bird tracks in it that just happened.
So I'm going to keep trying.

I'm following the OKC suicide bomber threads...'cause I have the OK ping list and such, you know.
The rest is rubbish.
(Heh heh...I like that word.)

The roof went great. Dad and I spent Saturday through Tuesday working on it. We had to pull off 2 and in some places 3 lays of old stuff. But the new one is all on and looks great. While we were doing that mom was a whirlwind in the house. She repainting the bedroom and then set it all up really nicely
She also sanded and repainted both doors and polyurethaned the floor of one room. Plus sewing some curtains for the kitchen and cooking tasty meals.
So it was a great visit but as is fairly normal for one of my families 'vacations' I need another vacation to relax from it.
To: JenB
Show up juuuust in time to steal a precious. How very in-character.
Not JUST in time... hehe. I had to lurk for a few hours ;D
To: SuziQ
Well then, we'll definitely have to try and work it out!

Give it a few more days, 2J. That critter is bound to show up sooner or later.
It may have even been by, but got spooked by the flour board. Once it's there for a bit, it will get used to it and hopefully, walk on it.

Yep - it's out..... I really enjoyed it too.... Zaphod was great. When I pictured him in my head while reading he was egotistical but really ugly - with the two-head thing going on. I like the way he was in the movie... like a surfer rock star Dubya!

LOL - I kinda got that impression myself, although I can definitely see the bill clinton in him (yick!) I remember seeing the BBC production and not only remember their attempt at SFX, but how incredibly flat his characterization was. The whole thing DRAGGED.
OH, and Alan Rickman was PERFECT as Marvin...I about had a cow in laughing at him. I had to watch it a second time to decide if I liked the girl who played Trillian, and the man who played Ford Prefect reminded me a lot of Danny John-Jules, who played Cat in Red Dwarf.
