Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

OK... watched "Alexander" tonight. Thought I would post my review:
Only Oliver Stone could do such a good job of getting so close to the right story and yet blow it so masterfully, in such a visually stunning way.
There you have it. There is so much else I could say, but it's all merely contained in the above.
[sigh]

Maybe I'm wrong, but I heard him sing it, so I thought he wrote it. I'll check around and see.

Think he can maintain order here?Well, he IS the one who was talking about creating some sort of way for all of us to earn six figure incomes, and live in our Hobbit Hole commune. ;o)

The Goblet of Fire website has the full trailer, but I found one that was a larger screen version. Looks WAY cool!
I'm also looking forward to Chronicles of Narnia. WETA workshop (who did the LOTR movies) is also doing the effects for Narnia. I've seen the trailer for it as well.

Clare and I are gonna be down your way the first weekend in November. We're coming down to Naples for the Open House at Ave Maria Univ. We have an almost 3 hour layover in Miami for the connection to Fort Myers. We could DRIVE it in that time, but the return flight doesn't connect in Miami, so we'll just enjoy the Miami airport. Any good places for breakfast there?

I'm here.
Corin is seriesly considering logging off until after the election. Single-issue people are really getting on my nerves.

Just keep it stuck on the Hobbit Hole and ignore other threads. If you can.

I don't know of any places within the airport, but I'd love to meet you there and hang out with you all until your flight is called. :-D

Ignore them, Corin.
With all of the idiots I've encountered ~out there~, I've decided to stay in here and on light-hearted threads until sanity is restored.

Not easy to ignore. I'm the "host" of the Virginia Campaign threads and the election is 34 days away.
I'm seriesly thinking of just checking out until it's all over.

I get just as frustrated on some of the threads out there, Corin.
But let's face it. A bunch of those people are whiners and complainers that will never be happy with any candidate who doesn't agree with them 100%.
You can't make all of the people happy all of the time, doncha know.
Rather than vote for the person who agrees with 90% of their positions, they'll sit on their hands. As a result, the person who agrees with 10% of their positions will win.
And they have no one to blame but themselves.

It's just particularly annoying that these crybabies make such a fuss and then cry even more when we question their credibility.
Any grown-up with political experience knows you can't operate on the basis of a single issue. Yet these whiners are saying "if I can't have my issue, I don't want anything."
Like I said the other day, I wish I could just go somewhere and not care.
