New verse:

That's why I'd just eat beef if I could. Cows eat grass, right?
Yep, and they like it so much they barf it up and eat it again.
Mmmm! Catfish!
Have you ever tried Tilapia? It's a farm raised fish like catfish, but is milder. Takes marinades and sauces really well, and it good fried, baked or broiled. It seems too delicate for the grill, even with one of those special fish grill thingies.
Maybe something like this:
There are also film or digital "game cameras" that are infrared activated. You have to get the film developed, or download the images, to see what you had. This one is realtime and wireless, and illuminates the scene with infrared LEDs. If you have electricity in the coop, you can power the camera that way, or just put in batteries.
Oh that looks great!
But I bet it's expensive.
Is there some sort of cheap alternative?
How'd the coffee and all go?
Went OK. He wasn't sure just how fast they'd have openings in this area, especially for long-term contract / contract-to-hire positions. But that's about what I expected. And it sounds like a good company - they pretty much screen people before submitting anyone for positions, which likely makes clients look very kindly on whoever they submit. Saves the client the trouble of doing first round interviews and checking references and all.
And he said I made a good first impression, whatever that means and for whatever its worth. ;-) He had me work over my resume a bit and send it to him, so that first step is done. Now I wait.
And I still haven't heard back from the staffing place. I'm trying to decide how much of a pest I should be, since it's likely just that *they* haven't heard back from the company - not their fault.
Remember when I tried to get that kefir from that woman and she was supposed to send me a free thing of kefir grains with a woman that lives here in Tulsa and so I went ahead and as a token bought a gallon of her goat milk but when the woman here in Tulsa picked up the milk the lady forgot to give her the kefir grains?
So I went ahead and gave the woman here in Tulsa another $5 to buy me some more milk with the idea that she would get the kefir grains for me the next time she went.
That was a while back, wasn't it! I forgot all about it!
So I get an email from the woman here in Tulsa, saying she got my milk. From the way she said it, it was pretty clear she had forgotten all about the kefir grains (which is all I ever really wanted in the first place!) So I said "Fine, I'll come get it." So I went to get it and she met me at the door, said "I'm getting the milk from someone else...it's $8 now." So to just get the whole thing over with, I gave her another $3 and took the milk.
Sigh.
She asked me if I wanted her to get me another gallon of milk and I said "No thank you" and I know I was smiling through my gritted teeth...I only wanted the goatmilk because the original woman was going to kindly give me some kefir grains! I like goat milk just fine but I'm not fixated on it and I don't want to drive all the way into Tulsa for a $8 gallon of milk! (Which really isn't a bad price for it...it's organic and it costs about $3 per quart at Wild Oats.)
I do enjoy dealing with this woman though...she seems like she's trying to figure me out...I think I mentioned before that I felt like she was trying in vain to pigeon-hole me. She stares at me very intensely and looks so confused by me and it so freakin' weird that it might unnerve me if it wasn't so funny!
Glad it went ok... you're behind cuz of all that Age of Empires, aren't you!
I wanna come home and watch more Firefly... need more snarky Simon getting beat up moments...
Quick update....a varmint killed Isabelle, predator still at large. Puffy escapes death row.
Heh...actually haven't played in a couple of days.
Mostly behind 'cause of reading. And working. And Firefly.
Poor Simon...
She's not related to the psychiatrist at church, is she?
That outfit's about $200. You can go a bit cheaper with a wireless camera and receiver that plugs into your existing TV. But then you need to use your TV to monitor stuff, rather than regular viewing. You might also try wireless baby sound monitors, but that assumes there will be some sort of racket made. This predator is silent because the birds are comatose at night.
Heh!! You are actually very close.
She's a painter.
They live in a very swank part of Tulsa called "Brookside". Very quaint older homes...remodeled and very expensive. $8 for a gallon of goat milk is nothin' to her, probably.
You know, I've often wanted a kind of TV monitor/camera to put outside my front door so I could see who was standing there better...
A baby monitor isn't a bad idea...there shouldn't be any noise in the coop, but I gotta believe there is *some* extra sound when something gets in!
Mmm, Simon - I mean, poor guy! Right!
Didja ship those cookies yet? At least they're not sitting on the counter open and alluring any more.
I did see about Isabelle. That's rough.
Shouldn't joke about it, I guess...but...I wonder if Puffy arranged it. Hired an assasin.
Evil Puffy.
I haven't shipped 'em. I'm still thinking of trying to get one other thing to put in the package. But I really should get 'em in the mail by tomorrow at the latest, or they won't get there in time.
May go wander the mall this evening and see if anything occurs to me. He's not the easiest bother to buy for, since he doesn't read, really, and is reallllly picky about music.
