Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Oh no!! Sad Panda!
I actually haven't seen that one, but David was mimicking the 'Sad Panda' while we were at the family reunion last year. We spent the entire evening riffing on "Sad Panda" while he, Clare, Joseph, their cousin Justin (who's 23), and I played 'Phase 10'. Whenever anyone lost, we'd say they were a sad panda. Imagine singing "I am Sad Panda" to the five note theme of Close Encounters. ;o)
It was a fun time.

Don't know if you are a fan of "House, MD", but it won the Emmy for Best Writing the other night! We love that show!

If ya can freeze a bunch of bottles of water and keep 'em in the freezer, it would help keep your stuff frozen. And you can put the bottles in the fridge to keep your milk cold for a while.

...and make sure the propane tank to the Road Grill is full or stock up on charcoal. If the power is out for a long period of time, you might want to cook and eat what's in the freezer before it goes bad.

If you have a gas stove (I can't remember), nevermind about the charcoal. :)

I paid $2.65 for gas this morning and felt like I was getting a bargain.

Heh...the week before Isabel hit, I had the brilliant idea that the way to clean out the garage was to set up the tents in the back yard and stash all the stuff in there. I ended up just throwing it all back in the garage.
And it's still there...

They've updated the
website for our Christmas show. If you click on multimedia you can see pictures from last year and view the trailer for the DVD.
Cast list comes out tonight.

Ok...got nine gallons of water freezing in the deep freeze.
After we get done with school, I'm going to walmart to stock up on drinking water and batteries and such. I should keep these things on hand anyways...
We have a gas range, so that won't be a problem.

Ok! I'll do that too when I run to Walmart.
Msdrby told me to do it before Katrina and I missed the highest gas prices because of it!

Got lots of candles and oil lamps...I prepared for Y2K ya know...Don't Ridicule Me! LOL I figured I'd prepare for Y2K and if nothing happened, well, I would be prepared for any future power outages or disasters.
I took the Y2K time as a good time to just get generally prepared.
But I should get it all together...I'm not sure where everything is...
