Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We'll have to get them towels. But they still won't understand why they have to be really stoned. I don't know how to fix that. :-)

I had to tell Dad a couple weeks ago that "He wasn't ready for South Park".
I think the context was all about how "there really isn't any quality writing in television anymore".
I had to mention that "if you go to bed at 7pm, you're missing out on everything happening. both the good and the bad." There's good writing happening... just not things you're interested in watching. Like Law & Order, 24, and South Park.
Maybe I'll get him to watch 24 someday, but he'll *never* be ready for South Park. Not ever. Dona, doubly so. :-)

Mornin' everyone. Am running late. 'Twas a car-b-que on the interstate this morning. Argh. And I have a big dog-n-pony-show briefing today.
My best to everyone!

Good morning Lil'freeper!
Say - Bear, Rose.... if you can jump on a plane.... we'd take ya in up here and get you out of this storm.

We'd take you in here, Bear...but that storm is coming right up Tornado Alley...
Good morning! Been emailing back and forth with my little brother in Houston (he's speaking to me for now). He works for ConnocoPhillips. He told me he's "dealing with the oil rig situation" right now.

Don't know at this time...they would just go up and stay with my folks. They live about an hour and half inland.

Well, at least he's got them to go to.... I think the trouble with TX is there's no hotel rooms available anywhere.

Mornin'...
2J, did Steve ever get a suit? I got a catalogue from Joseph A. Banks. All I'm sayin' is if I spend $1,400 for a suit, I expect it to come with someone to wear it work for me.
Hair/2J - I'm guessing that Bear and Rose are far enough inland in Austin that they'll be okay. Stock some water, batteries and nonperishable food items...and a cell phone to call one of us.

Yikes! Must be some suit! No, he hasn't got a suit yet...really needs to.
I agree, I think the whole of Central Texas, even on up into OK, will need to be on guard for bad weather and all that comes with it...power outages and such...tornadoes.
Albertson's had milk on sale a buck per half-gallon...I stocked my freezer, of course...now watch the power go out!
