Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It was a message. I don't have their phone number. I could stop by the store, but that seems a bit...I dunno...desperate or pushy. Not that it matters anymore, but...I'd just be intensely curious. Who cares if you look pushy, they aren't gonna hire you ~now~ anyhow. How did you answer the 'get mad' question? Get mad!

Heh...I've been kicked out on the street before. My mom found out I had collect-called my boyfriend (whom she didn't like) so she fired me (I was the manager at her shoe store.) The she called me at my friend's house and told me she needed me to come close up the shoe store for her and I told her I couldn't, but to call this other girl and see if she could do it. (Mom had fired this other girl a few months before.) She hung up on me and when I got home Dad kicked me out.
Heh heh!
My cousin took me in, kindly...and it eventually led to me getting into nursing school. So it was good.

It's one of those "You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't" situations.

I'm sure I'll get through this. Heaven knows I've been in worse situations than this one in my life. ;-P
My faith is helping me tremendously. It's a comfort to know that Someone better than me will provide a solution eventually.
Prayers are all I really need.
And I feel just terrible bringing my crap into the Hobbit Hole. It's a refuge for me in a way, so I try to keep my real life dramas out of here if I can.
Unfortunately, I've just reached a point where I find that I need my friends to lean on right now. I'm so glad to have you in my life.

Sounds like we need a good ol' chat-view one weekend night.

We don't mind at all, Ruthy. It makes me happy that I matter enough to you, and other HH'ers, that you're willing to share your struggles.

If you can't tell us what's going on, it's no refuge... Please, let us know what's happening with you, and you're in our prayers.

I just wish he'd left a phone number! I can do a call to the number listed, but I have a feeling it'll just get me through to the mall where the store is located.
Oh well.
There's still the admin assistant deal. Test is a week from today - Bilbo's birthday. That's if they don't call and say I'm not eligible, which could happen. I'm half expecting it, considering how many doors have been slammed in my face at this point.

I finished
This Present Darkness and found
The Oath in the "free" box at the library too...hardback but falling apart so I had no qualms about reading in the tub.
Now that was a creepy book! Again, not too deep but pretty good reading!

Well, we did go to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island last weekend as her birthday gift. She absolutely LOVED it.
The only part she was kinda down about was that she was too small to ride the Kumba, Montu or Sheikra.
I told her that she'd prolly be tall enough next year. :-D
We both got a bit sunburned from Adventure Island, but it was a great day for water slides!
This weekend, I'll just buy an ice cream cake for her and have a small get-together at my grandmother's.
