*sigh* I think I've about driven Jen to distraction raving about the consignment clothing store we had back home. They were pretty picky about what they'd take - absolutely nothing overly worn or stained or damaged in any way - but the prices were still really reasonable...usually three or four dollars for a shirt and maybe eight or ten for a dress. Stuff that still had tags was a bit more, but nothing crazy. And the longer something had been there, the less it cost - they discounted after set periods, so if you were lucky enough to find something that had been overlooked, you could get some pretty fantastic deals. I got pretty much all my clothing there. I miss it like crazy!
If there's something like that here I haven't found it yet, but I'm sure there must be.
She's looking forward to it. It's the only school in which she's expressed an interest for the first couple of years, with the exception of the Japanese college for the one semester.
Your time, yep!
Steve's gotta buy a suit!
Ugh!
It's on the schedule!
You have FReepmail. Sent you a bit more than his name...oops.
I love that family so much! It'd be neat if you got to meet at least some of them.
Go to Men's Warehouse. Not too spendy as far as suits go, but they really know about customer service. They take all the stress and fussing out of the process. (just don't buy shirts and ties there - you can get them for less elsewhere...)
Nah, I just stop listening ;-)
Busy morning already! Two crisis and a Windows rebuild.
You might keep me in your prayers...
I invited Celeste's kids over and gave her the options of either dropping the kids off or staying and visiting...I was really hoping she would just drop them off, but she said she was coming over.
So I'm praying I'll have the same peace that I had the other day when I spoke with her.
This is an effort on my part to maintain normalcy for the children...a token effort to let *them* know that I have no intention of isolating them from each other. And I had promised earlier, before all this came down, that we would have them back to swim before the end of the summer. I actually made the promise at Matthew's birthday party, while Steve was at the meeting finding out what had happened.
I keep my word...even (and especially) to a child.
Ok!
I had no idea where to start!
I love Men's Wearhouse.
Last time I went in to buy a suit, I was in the back trying it on. When I came out, the sales manager had his associates there with matching shirts/ties, socks, shoes and a belt.
I went with one of the shirts and ties. And came back for the shoes.
You're gonna love the way you look...
Take Steve to Men's Wearhouse.
Tell them exactly what he needs. What he needs the suit for. How often he plans to wear it. etc.
They'll do the rest.
You want to go somewhere like that because they'll make sure it fits correctly. And they'll do the alternations.
But Lil' is right. Let them show you the shirts and ties. Then go to Penney's or somewhere similar and buy similar colors and patterns.
Brilliant business concept.
I really wish they ran ladies' shops like that. "Hi, I'm size N. What do you have that's blue?" and then the sales lady lays everything out on the table for you. That'd be so wonderful.
Nordstrom used to do that. At least when we shopped there, which was before Jr. was born and only shortly thereafter.
They were particularly good with shoes. At the time, they were about the only department store I could walk into and find shoes in my size.
They spoiled us.
Ok, it's a plan then. Men's Wearhouse, here we come!
Well, I guess he needs a basic business suit to interview in...and possibly work in in the future...will they know what to set him up with?
Yep. They'll know. Like I said, go in and tell them exactly what he needs.
Will pray. When are they coming?
Noon, your time.
;-)
Ok!
I'm excited!
