Stop being so hard on yourself. No one else is thinking any of those things... I bet your friend asks all those questions to try to help.
I've already crabbed at a HHer today.... don't make me do it again :~D
I have thus far missed *all* of the storm coverage but I had Rosie in my thoughts when I was flying around today. Hope all went well today. I'll try to catch up on the thread ina bit. But first I have to slog through the email and then go try to find a phone charger ... seems I left mine at home. Argh.
We haveta go get some hay.... and Tiff's coming over later tonight to take that retreat package stuff :~D
Heh...I think my friend asks those things because her family are pretty much all extremely successful a lot of 'em, and really strong people...and the idea of someone going this long without walking into some place and practically demanding to be hired is a hard concept.
Also she's unable to work and always has been and always will be...so it's not something she can truly understand.
And many of my siblings are the same way. Even Dad can't understand why it is I haven't found anything. I've stopped really talking to him much about it, 'cause it just makes me cry.
I realize I complain too much on thread lately. And really...most of the time I've been OK. But the idea that I might not get this job or any of the other three or so in contention right now makes me feel queasy. I can't do this much longer...emotionally or financially.
Glad the retreat situation got worked out...
Understand.... you can tell us all your fears, just don't expect we won't tell you not to worry so much :~D
Heh.... well, he still hasn't told his folks.
Eeeek!
SuziQ - prayers for your family! Sitting through a cat 1 was no fun...don't even want to think about being in a stronger one!
Rosie - hang iin there!
2J - I thought your parents gave you only second-hand stuff.
Spent the day trying to figure out how to work with the database (that I was supposed to be trained in two months ago.) I'm not holding my samples any longer so I'm just winging it.....think I created a few empty worklists that I couldn't delete....found out I checked in samples that I don't need to run. Let's see what other damage I can do this week. :)
Well, if they have to clean up dirty data.... maybe they'll give you a little training on the database :~D
He doesn't have to tell his folks. :)
If they ask, tell 'em. But I don't see why you have to volunteer information!
I figure a few more empty worklists....already have a full one that I won't use. :)
The chemist-type geeks don't like their system...so I'm making my own database with Access like I've done for all my other projects.
Hehehe....if they don't like cleaning up the problems, they can just provide that training they've been promising all spring and summer.
Heh, sounds like a plan!
I was heard saying things like "what else can I do to screw this up?" :)
Looks like this system is going to be a pain to work with...we're supposed to enter in results by hand instead of exporting from Excel or whatever.
Hmm, that seems needlessly complicated. Maybe you can find a major security breach and get it removed.
I'm watching some of the hurricane coverage finally. Goodness what a storm.
Chemists don't like it - too much opportunity for data entry errors.
The database (seems to be) good for tracking sample locations, freezer temperatures and such....and entering the sample prep stuff seems okay. But throughout the company we have 3 or 4 different programs to analyze data (Analyst, Excalibur, Chemstation, etc.) The problem is getting the calculated results from these programs into the database. They're supposed to be working on a program that'll put it in an Excel sheet and then into the database. As of yet, I haven't found out how to import into the database. :)
Perhaps I should work on it.
Wonderful!
(I think you should paint them red to match the freezer....)
LOL!
;-)
Well, I sent the follow-up e-mail, so I'm back to the wait and pray stage of the game again.
He said I should hear back by early to mid next week. I'll expect mid and be happy if it happens earlier. And I'd *better* be on their list. I've jumped through enough hoops...
