I realize this isn't a typical question on FR, but I am looking for any advice I can get. I was due to have my 3rd baby on August 12, and as of yet, she is a no-show. I was wondering if anyone knows of any safe ways to bring on labor. I bought a bottle of castor oil today, but that will be my last resort. If you've tried this, did it work? I've heard mixed reviews on it.
Any info/advice/stories would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Offer tax incentives, extravagant benifits packages, campaign promises etc.
Oh THAT kind of labor.
never mind.
LOL...great minds think alike. :)
We all know you are a big perv!!
I should have included more info in my original post. I am scheduled to be induced on Monday the 22 (10 past due date), but I would really prefer to avoid that. I was induced with my first and it was awful. I cannot get an epidural so I am looking to avoid getting pitocin since it causes very sharp, painful contractions (yes, I realize that contractions are generally painful, but for me forced ones hurt more).
My doctor only recomended sex and walking... neither of which is very appealing this late in the game and in this heat!I just like hearing stories from other people and seeing what worked for them. I will obivously follow the advice of my doctor and not do anything stupid.
Go for a nice LOOOOONG walk....come home and take a nice relaxing warm bath. It's worked for me 3 times when I was overdue.
Pay more than minimum wage?
LOL! That kid would take one look at that old hag and crawl back up into the womb forever!
Good advise from you Doctor

Well with our second child I went to the local park and walked up and down steep hills and then I came home and jumped up and down on the bed. Went into labor later early the next morning.
Is there any medical reason to hurry up the delivery?
I don't know anything about castor oil, but I can tell you my wife swears by the cobblestones on Germantown Avenue. If you don't live near Philadelphia, just try any heavily potholed road. Good luck and God Bless.
LOL, now she may just go into labor over laughter : ))) There is a movie or cartoon in the super secret solution I am sure : )))

I've got to agree with your question. Doctors are too impatient nowdays. I went overdue with all 5 of my children. Some as long as three weeks and all were medically sound.
The nine months of gestation are based on averages. That means for every short gestation there is a long one. I'm just afraid that there are way too many medical interventions because the doctor or mom doesn't want to wait.
raspberry tea.
