Okay, this is my first vanity post, so let's just have some fun with it.... Where are you going to move when you retire, and why, is what this post is all about, I'm retiring in less than a year, and my husband and I are moving to the Ozarks and build a house on a lake.

The mountains of Colorado.
Arrid climate with low humidity year-round and beautiful winters.
We like the snow:-)

I will retire to my rear end on my pile of money. Probably watching for the black helicopters. Seriously, wherever land is still available.

Monte Carlo, where else?! Lemme know if you need a roommate.

Oklahoma City. The AF dropped me off here 20-odd years ago, and its not a bad place to live! Just moved into a new custom-built home east of the metro a year and 9 months ago. Country living within 5 minutes of Tinker AFB, inexpensive housing, decent climate, few liberals. What more can you ask for?

Good one!
Montana or Idaho maybe. Could just stay in Texas, but I hate the heat. Any rate I still have 20 or so years to worry about it.

Fredricksburg-proper and surrounding is getting way too crowded with tourists, etc. Not too far away is Boerne and Bandera which are still nice.

The are moving from California to the Ozarks, and it is a place called Cherokee Village, where the prices are really good and it's really a nice place. There is a web site

Let's try that again:

No. I'm going to install a puppet regime and rule from behind the scenes.

If I recall, isn't Fredricksburg the home town of Lady Bird Johnson, a.k.a. Claudia Taylor? Wasn't her daddy the richest man in that town?

Roger that . . . when the time comes to research we'll start near Georgetown and work our way towards Fredricksburg. Kerrville has possibilities too.
