We will not falter, we will not tire, we will not fail.
This day in history:
1850 - The gas mask was patented on this day. It was an invention of B.J. Lane of Cambridge, MA
1881-President Garfield was shot.
1889: To regulate commercial trusts and monopolies, Congress passes the Sherman Antitrust Act, which outlaws any "combination or conspiracy in restraint of trade."
1921 - The first prize fight offering a million-dollar gate was broadcast on radio. Jack Dempsey knocked out George Carpentier in the fourth round of the bout in Jersey City, NJ.
1933 - Baseball great Carl Hubbell of the New York Giants hurled 18 innings of shutout ball to lead the Giants to a 1-0 win over St. Louis in the first half of a doubleheader at the Polo Grounds in New York.
1937-Amelia Earhart disappears.
1961: Writer Ernest Hemingway commits suicide in Ketchum, Idaho, at the age of 61.
1964-President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act
It looks like a great day for gardening with much cooler temperatures for today.
Good morning and you are welcome.
I bought a disc just for the purpose of cutting fire lanes if we ever have a fire in the woods up here, I sure did not need it for any other reason. The whole back of our place is solid woods.
Employ the Nuclear Option, as they will surely filibuster, and then go get them.
McCain will be exposed in his decision, as he will surely side with the Dems.
Bush, during his run in 2004, continued to state he would appoint a strict constructionist. He will stick by that decision.
Always think fire lanes to keep things from getting out of hand.
I got a dog so lazy he was lying on his side with his head up about 3 or 4 inches barking at a stray dog. He will be walking across the place and just fall down and sleep. he lays on his stomach and eats the dog food from the bucket top I feed him in. I have trained him good however, I will bark out the order 'stay' and he does. Course I assume he hears me cause he sure don't show any emotion.
When I was a kid we used to plant trees up in our tree farm in northern Wisconsin. My uncle, a forester, and my father always made sure we had a tree lane to seperate the rows of trees just in case of a fire.
Toby, LOL.
Good morning all.
I like Brown, too. But here's one that would really throw the RATS for a loop: Miguel Estrada.
I have confidence that he will, too. Of course, the demoCRAT will scream bloody murder.
Toby, you're batting 2000 this morning w/the dog and volunteer fire department stories! Belly laughing at my keyboard.
I can assure you, never a dull moment here in this household.
Answer: It's a given that they will. Such power, or the assumption of it, really does corrupt men who crave it. I understand why the dems belong to that gang of 14, but I thoroughly despise the rinos who do. Graham for sure is toast down here........SC Rep. do NOT forget. Hear that, Lindsey?
Good morning. Beautiful day here.
Off to watch the blue birds eat their meal worms.
Won't be around much in the next three days....holiday weekend is always a busy time.
Everyone have a safe and Happy 4th.
I will check in later today if I feel better.
