Might as well get used to it. Your entire existence is to serve the interests of the local, state and federal governments, and if you are impeding progress (read growth of the tax base) then your existence is unnecessary.

My brother has a bumper sticker on his truck that says: "I am proud of what my country USED to be". So much for the fifth amendment.
The one idea all the revolutionaries had through out all their fighting, and reworking the Constitution, and passing it etc etc was property rights.
Property rights, property rights, property rights. They disagreed about a lot of things, but that was the thing they all agreed on.
