The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I don't particulary like white chocolate.

I wish I had my Coffee Heath Bar Crunch Ice cream right about now....

I'm gonna check out the cafeteria. Hopefully, they have something good today.

All the recipes call for blanching and peeling the peaches...I don't wanna! I think the whole fruit makes for a more interesting product...the little flecks of reddish skin are pretty and it imparts an overall pinkish glow, to my jam, anyways.

My jam isn't technically jam, because it's not got chunks of fruit in it...it's a whole fruit spread really. I puree the beegeebies out of it prior to cooking it. It's my personal preference.

They didn't have anything appealing. :-P

I ended up with a ceasar salad and a peanut butter cookie.

Spain, huh? One might almost think your luck is changing... you should write back in Spanish and see if the spammer can speak it...

The dough was really hard! It bent the spoon when I was trying to scoop some out.

Ice cream straight out of the freezer is one thing, but cookie dough from the fridge is another. ;-)

Speaking of the fridge. Wife tells me this morning she thinks ours is dying.

Figgers.

Prolly can't handle the floor actually being level...

Appliances are VEY tempermental.

My mom got a great deal on a Whirlpool Gold at Best Buy.

It's really nice! First fridge we've ever owned with ice and water in the door. :-D

Woo, I'm hot. Biked home and noticed a definite speed improvement. I'm getting the hang of this!

Two thirty-minute sweat-like-a-pig sessions a day and you'd think I'd lose weight... I just may be wrong about the clothes not fitting easily, though. Just maybe.
