The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Way to go, you two! Those bikes look NICE! I'll be looking forward to hearing your stories about getting around on those, and it'll be great that you can go riding together.
To: JenB
Oh, yeah... Phil Foglio (artist/writer on the series) has been in the comics biz since the late 70s/early 80s. He's done comics, book illustrations, and even art for trading card games (he's done a lot of Magic, The Gathering cards, for instance).
Basically, they moved GG to the web to save the cost of publishing a regular comic, while concentrating on producing the annual collection and other GG related material, like the Girl Genius GURPS module.

Great bikes! CO is a grand place for biking - many wishes for many great adventures.
Jen - do I spy some Tad Williams on those shelves? That was a pretty good series.

Love the bikes! Love the bookshelves! Love the people! Really love that hot ping bottle holder!
I had a pair of hot pink sunglasses back in the mid 80s. Dropped them in the lake while jet skiing.
Stepped on them while swimming a year later, no kidding.
I think having that hot pink bottle holder says something about you Rosie...something that I have suspected all along.

Good morning!
I got the trash out!
Had a real hard rainfail last night, but not the howling winds of the night before...still, I should check for tree-limbs on the roof.

Morning!
Up, and going to go down to apply for that job in a bit. Can't hurt. And who knows, maybe I'll hear back on the other today.

I think it's good!! I'm not sure WHAT it says about you exactly...but it's gotta be good! Funloving? Adventurous? Mostly practical with a whimsical side?
I really like it!

I suspect if you were picking out a water bottle holder it'd be glossy candy-apple red! :)

Yep, the vet job. I'm just hoping anyone else who might have been a rival decides not to bother because of the somewhat cumbersome application process! And that they move vey quickly with regards to hiring someone. I can dream, can't I?

A kookYeah, maybe a bit of one! That's not a bad thing in small doses. Just don't overdo it and come wandering up to me saying bizarre things and brushing your hair with an imaginary comb! ;-D
