The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, she has a non-credited part in the church congregation in "Blazing Saddles." ;-)

If you haven't seen that, you have homework this weekend.

If you say so... don't think I've seen her in anything, though.

I think the only thing she's done that I halfway liked was "The Miracle Worker." At least, that's the only one I watched all the way through.

I don't think she's done anything major recently. You've both probably seen her in something.

Heh heh! Steve says he'd pat me on the back if my own arm wasn't in the way!

It'll have to be watched more carefully though...at least for a while. Just to make sure. And to make sure it never stops up again!

Clevon Little

Died of colon cancer in 1992. I didn't know that until just now.

That's an awful way to go. Yick. I'm sorry to hear that.

Blazing saddles is just about the only one of those I have seen (or recall seeing).

I don't remember Anne Bancroft in the congregation.

I still have one small sore spot from where I held the .44 Magnum...what would it be? A bitty rifle? A shotgun? I think I had it too high - the top of it was almost against my collarbone. Oops.

It was a fun one to shoot, though...just the same

What rifle would be so rude as to bruise 2Jedismom?

I had a Finn Mosin-Nagant once that did that to me...but that was me.

Otherwise known as a carbine. =]

Correcting my technical terms? ;-)

That could be it. It was Talon's...he'd know!

Vey light and fairly short, it was. But kicked a bit.
