PJ O'Rourke wrote mockingly about the "Perpetually Indignant" once; he was referring to the Left.
In many ways the Right is frantically trying to imitate the Left now; there are a heck of a lot of the "Perpetually Indignant" on FR, constantly boycotting stuff, frantically looking for or even inventing ways they can be offended by stuff so they can enjoy complaining about it. Heck, we're even getting our own ranting morons in imitation of Moore and Garafolo.
You are really slamming us as being like the Left? What I really hate about the Left is their constant slandering of others. If their outrage was based on truth, I would expect that outrage of them. If they lacked outraged, I would suspect they were not sincere.
If they criticize people who are trying to save our 'fragile planet' for 'overracting to the alleged destruction of the earth', then obviously, they'd be phony as three dollar bills. Are you insisting that we should be as phony as the fake centrists on the left?
I look at it this way, if I didn't own any music made by liberals or people leaning left, my music collection (which is vast) would be dwindled down to a few country & western artists.
Goodbye Beatles, Byrds, Dylan, Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, Stooges, Clash, REM, Radiohead..etc..etc..etc. No thank you, I'll stick with just enjoying it.
In the words of Newt Gingrich, even Karl Marx was a compelling writer, he was just wrong.
Clint Eastwood put it well on Oreilly a little while back. He said that in the 1960s and 70s it was the Left who would whine about movies like Dirty Harry and every little thing. Now the pendulum has swung the other way. It's just another version of PC. IMHO.
