The whole Asheville - Hendersonville area has become something of a new age mecca. The "Paris of the South" is now the "San Francisco of the East." You should take a walk around downtown to see all the stores selling healing crystals and wiccan paraphernalia. It's a beautiful part of the country, which does seem to draw the alternate types... they think it's a vortex of some sort, like Sedona.

After its North Carolina exhibit run, the sculpture will be permanently relocated to the Clinton Liebrary.

I'm dyin' over here.

He also sculpted Marilyn Monroe's high heel shoes, but said they don't fit the legs.

The stinkin' hippie in the foreground is the "artist". I'm really at a loss for words ... This sort of puerile monument to prurient interest is mind-boggling. If it was in a city park in San Francisco, I wouldn't be (quite) as shocked ... as is ... North Carolina!?!?!?!?!

It's on private property. For once there is no HOA to harass the owner. People here should be filled with glee.

"The project took about three years," Pearce said. "I was inspired by Marilyn Monroe's legs, with the skirt blowing." File this one under, "Way too much time on one's hands".
But, others aren't so forgiving. The sculpture is, after all, located between two churches.

How conveeeenient!

A thought experiment. Put a cross in front of the sculpture and see what the reaction is.

They can adulate woman with an obscene monument, but they can't erect a Creche scene or the Ten Commandments on the same spot, because that would be.....objectionable.
